10 - Ansu Fati

If he isn't meant to be the next big thing, I don't mind selling him but it will be a bad sign for other players if he actually ends up leaving. It creates a bad image that the club no longer cares about their talents and players like Pedri, Gavi, etc. will eventually also consider leaving if they don't see the future with Barca in the next 1-2 years.

I'm happy with selling Fati and even Pedri and Gavi IF they are replaced with modern, professionals with the right mentality.
Fati needs to show more ditto Pedri and Gavi. At the moment they just have potential but that potential is not being shown. Part of it is Xavi sucking ass as a coach but these kids are soft and small.
We should sell Fati to City for big money and get a proper winger.

I didn't just mean Pedri and Gavi but other younger players in the team as well. Also, just because they consider leaving the team, it doesn't mean they have mentality issues. Barca is a sinking ship (like AC Milan did) and if anyone wishes to build a decent career, they have the 100% right to consider leaving the club. It would mean that the club failed to show a promising sporting plan to our own players.
Football is also waaay past its glory days and it has been years since the football world suffers a severe lack of talent in every position. Look at the quality of big clubs compared to 10, 20, or 30 years ago. Most of their football qualities and players are shit and mediocre at best. There aren't even enough WC managers right now in the top leagues. Do you really expect it will be easy to replace them with better talents if they leave? I don't think so especially if you consider the scouting ability of Barca.

Lol we aren't getting big money for him

Of course we would lol. 80M minimum, maybe even 100M+. In a world (market) where Darwin and Joao Felix go for 100 and 126M respectively from the Portuguese league, we can easily get that for Fati, if we decided to sell. If it really came to selling him, we shouldn't settle for less than 120M fixed and up to 150M with variables. Ffs, he's still only just turning 20 in 3 days!

Regarding injuries...Dembele spent half of his 20s more injured than healthy, and is now suddenly not injury prone anymore (even confirmed by FIFA 23, having his 'injury prone' trait removed). If you had asked me up until to a year ago to name one player who I think would never get over his injuries to the point of not being injury prone anymore, I would've said Dembele 9/10 times. And now here we are. Plus we know Dembele is Dumbele most of the time and is not exactly lighting up the world even when fit, while we know Fati has the quality, that killer instinct almost embedded in him and can become a world beater in every sense of the word, either at the wing or even up front, if his manager sees him there, as long as he gets that stamina (back) and stays fit and healthy.

With Dembele, quality and honestly footballing IQ or lack there of is and always was a problem, even if he stays fit. With Fati, I just don't see that problem, never did. Of course that doesn't mean his career can't go the R9 way after all those knee problems so early in his career, in which case selling him for even 100M would be seen as an absolute master stroke in hindsight a few years from now, but let's hope not, for (probably Barca) and football sake in general, cause one thing is clear: he's a very very special player when in full force.

Nobody is paying that amount for Fati's finisbed legs, 50m tops

You guys need to take a day and chill out. 19 years old and now we need to sell Fati, Gavi, and Pedri what the hell is wrong with you all. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Don't think anyone would pay more than 40-50m for Ansu with 20m being for his potential. Why wouldn't other clubs have doubts over him when even his own fans have written him off?

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Rome wasn't built in a day but some other great cities were never built either.

You are right to some extent, we need patience.
But on the other hand, there is a high chance that all of our players are a dogshit.

Pedri is a weird, lazy, not too dangerous in the attacking third, physically weak midfielder.
Gavi is just kicking people around.
The only player who had some talent, Fati, is done by injuries.

If the pillars of the house are bad, you'll never build a good house.

So, instead of building a club around shitty pillars (Pedri, Gavi, Pablo Torre or Alena, Puig, Oriol not too long ago), maybe we should tear it down and build new pillars.

Real Madrid couldn't find good young pillars in their kingdom so they bought two gems from France.

But no, we are Barca.
We need to sign 10 new 18 year old kids from Spain with 168 cm and 60 kg who are only good at pig in the middle and nothing else.
Foreign kids and coaches are not good for us.
They don't understand our play and history.
They don't have our DNA.

A mighty Titanic DNA.

Problem is with the players Real Madrid sign, there is usually an established player ahead of them where all these new signings need to be doing is challenging for the position and filling in when appropriate. They're not expected to be starters from the first minute they arrive.

Us on the other hand throw Pedri and Gavi straight into being the current and future 6 and 8 of the club. With no one to learn from, no established players to take on responsibility of the team. Xavi and Iniesta themselves didn't play as many games as these two from the start. And had good solid professionals to learn from, as well as leaders ahead of them. We have a decrepit Busquets who is supposed to be the example.

3 goals and 3 assists in 300 LL minutes. I repeat, these are not statistics showing he is 'ineffective' or 'a shadow of himself', they show that whenever he enters the field he gives a positive impact.

But people here are ignoring that, and showing confirmation bias in labelling him as finished, because they were going to say that no matter how he played this season.

Yeah, but to some extent, these are all axcuses.

Suddenly = getting a chance at Barca all the time is not good and a player will fail because of that.

In the past it was the opposite, we were stacked and young midfielders like Alena, Puig, Oriol didn't get chances and then fans said that they stagnated because they didn't get chances.

Or: when we send a young player on loan and he fails, we used to say: loans never work for us. Those players had to play in wrong formations, surrounded by bad players, not playing our mighty Barca DNA where they can shine.

Yet, when you remove emotions and excuses = those players who failed at loans = failed because they sucked and they never turned into world class players later in their career no matter where they'd go.

So: what if your current sucks more or less = because they suck?
Xavi grew up under the same or even worse circumstances from 1999-2005.
Age 18 = 26 apps
Age 19 = 38 apps
Age 20 = 36 apps
Age 21 = 52 apps

Pedri is 20 in 7 days. Ok, he plays slightly more than Xavi, but you get the point.
Xavi grew up surrounded by mighty Saviola in attack (who was a shitty kid), Fabio Rochemback, Zenden, Dehu, Christanval, 10 random Dutch average players etc.
Coached by Serra Ferrer, Rexach, Van Gaal twice, Rijkaard.
We changed coaches, players and styles every season.
Yet, Xavi was thrown as a kid into all of that, played good and survived.

My opinion is for years that fans always give way too many excuses to young players.
Remember how Riki was not weak for some time, and physique didn't matter if you could play well with the ball.
Arthur was the next Xavi, and he was not guilty for backpasses, it was his teammates who didn't make runs. When he never made interceptions in defense, it was not him, it was because he would chase the opponents and then Raki and Busi would make easy interceptions due to Arthur's work, lol.
When Arthur went snowboarding, smoking, getting STDs, the first reaction of fans was: those are lies, media hates him for no reason.

When Dembele was eating unhealthy, was late for trainings, unable to speak Spanish etc = it was not him, those were lies. Media hated him because he was black, lol.

Of course, there are always some examples like KDB and Salah under Mou, but fans forget that for 1 mistake, there are 999 players who are shit for a reason.
And then when our kids are bad and overrated, fans always point to: Xavi wasn't that good till 2008, or Salah was a late Bloomer.
Yeah, but what about 999 other players?

Regarding Pedri, you can say what you want, but he will never improve his pace, strength, height, workrate.
He will always be a weak, lazy, hide and seek midfielder with occasional flashes of brilliance which are not consistent enough for a top level. He can only get more mature and slightly better in passes and decisions. But he will always be tired and lazy.
About Gavi, I don't even know what to say where he'll improve.

Look, we are so shit that we look at every young player as a potential savior.
And then when a young player sucks or someone asks questions about him: you get problems/insults, because if those young players fail, what is left for us? Nothing, zero hope.

And people don't want to accept that we are Titanic/a former AC Milan/Arsenal for the next decade:
titanicsink-900x523.jpg

Majority of fans became Barca's fans during our glory days, when we were on top of the world and when we were producing gems out of fun.
Their brains can't accept the reality that we suck, the future is extremely grey and that a huge majority of new kids are bang average, yet the hype, media, papers and fans are trying to turn them into a ray of hope/saviors, since because that: who will watch and care about Barca?

I still assume this source is complete or partially bogus. And that if there is an ounce of truth, it is only to put pressure to give Fati some more starts which quite frankly he deserves after the Madrid cameo and successive Villarreal performance.

Pedri on the wing was one of those, good for a match tactical moves (ala Iniesta on the left a decade or more ago) but not something to churn out games in a row.
