If you want to exclude it in to only national team and official club matches, Messi has 306+155 in 454. Pele: 770 goals in 822 games. I think now it's ok to link to my match list as a source: All club senior + U-20 & U-23 national team games.

Let's say Messi plays 10 years in Barcelona averaging 30 goals per season and then couple of years in Newell's. I think he will surpass Pele then.

Messi needs to score 487 more goals (Barca+ ARG, official games) to beat Pele's record (767 official goals)... but, we have to keep in mind that Pele scored 410 of his 767 goals in a regional league (Paulista)... It was so much easier than now...
Its not going to be easy (Messi needs an average of 61 goals for the next 8 years "Barca+Arg"), but again Messi can do the unexpected..

253 in 329 official games for Barcelona.
26 goals in 70 games for Argentina (senior team)
