I actually watched the interview just then, he claims he hates politics & then he rants on about how Cristiano should win it based on winning something
It's certainly not unthinkable
In 2010 he was saying that Iniesta shouldn't win it just because he won the WC, in 2011 he was making a case for CR by pointing out how the portuguese carried his team on his shoulders and now he wants CR to win it because he won La Liga.
I don't really care for the BdO, but it would be funny to see Cristiano and Mou's faces if someone else would be the winner.
I think it should be..he wasn't in Madrid's top 3 players of the season(Cristiano, Ramos, Benzema) and he wasn't the best for Spain either(Iniesta, Ramos, Jordi Alba). The BdO is not a prize for the footballer that won the most titles..otherwise Torres would be the favourite.
The only one that could have challenged Messi&Cristiano is Iniesta, but he wasn't very good with Barca last season.
The other half of truth is how the league would have been if only Messi and CR goals + assists counted for FCB and RM. Here (stats from transfermarkt.de):
1. FC Barcelona 76p, 70-29 (head-to-head 1-1)
2. Real Madrid 76p, 59-31
3. FC Valencia 64p
4. FC Málaga 58p
5. Atlético Madrid 57p
6. RCD Mallorca 56p
(laptop power is low, can't analyse the stats now).
Yeah, it is. He wasn't great this season - definitely not his best, whereas both Messi and Ronaldo improved since last season. The only reason this is even a debate is because people get bored of Messi winning it back to back to back (to back??)It's certainly not unthinkable & i'd have him down as a dark horse with his La liga/Euro titles & he was very good particularly in the Euro, i don't however think he's mainstream enough to win & it will of course be between Ronaldo/Messi but he'll be up there!
I made one for the same thing but in assumption no penalties are included:
