Wait? So the criticism of Messi is a speculative opinion of his inability to play well in hypothetical matchups against a certain kind of team in a certain kind of weather?
I didn't think the Stoke comment was ever personally directed at Messi. I thought it was directed at Barcelona team as a whole, and how they would struggle with Rory Delaps long throw-in's and Stokes height and prowess at set pieces along with the physical nature of their game.
In other words a way for them to say EPL is better and Barca are not the best team ever because they doubt Barca could handle Stoke on a cold Tuesday night.

Thanks for clarifying. Think it was Andy gray who started that whole thing off. After disposing of Arsenal and Man Utd, you would think they would shut up
Pretty much what its come down to.
No problem at all. Yeah it was Andy Gray that started this whole thing off. He's such an annoying so and so. I like his voice on the commentating I admit, but I can't stand some of the stupid stuff he says, especially about teams below the Top 4 or 6. His knowledge is outdated/ignorant when it comes to the rest of the Premier League teams. he said some stuff about Newcastle this season that got me and other toon fans angry.
Only way this argument will be sorted is if Barcelona organize a Pre-Season friendly with Stoke City. Just to shut Andy Gray and the like up when Barca tank them!
The widely conceived idea that only the English Premier League has physical teams in it is a pure myth.
Talking about Andy Gray in Messi's thread is a Crime.
andy gray.... i remember someone posted a video of him (united fan) working for some betting website (since he got fired from sky sports for sexism LOLOL) and he was going on about how united would beat barca
