Torres had som troubles with injuries but when he played he always scored. Gerrard was one of the best players in the world and I think he will be in the top 3 of ballon d'or but since he's english perhaps they will leave him out of there. But Gerrard had an absolute fantastic season despite troubles outside from football. Messi and Gerrard were the two best players in Europe this season imo.
Gerrard finished third in the goal scoring table with 16 goals in the league, Torres fith with 14 goals (like a said, very good despite having a lot of injuries)

But this is the messi thread so sorry for some OT

Torres was invisible at both games against Chelsea, even the 4-4 one. He didn't even score. Maybe not "always" then.

as u know alot of it depends on european succes (and trophees)..

In the CL?
but he did score against them in the first leg.. He scored against them twice at home in the league..

i dont rate torres at all but perhaps its because i dont really follow EPL any more ...
But then again...i dont like efficient/clinical strikers... I want more creativity (torres can do more than eto o in that area but still) ...nothing compared to our attack

There's no better striker in the world than nando.. That's the truth

Like you say, very creative, his technique is very good, acc., his heading and he's absolutely deadly in front of the goal.

He is obviously very good, but when ever I watch him for spain he really annoys me. He always seems to mess up his first touch and loses the ball too easily. I think he's just better suited to the premiership.

But I do agree with you, Torres should've been on at least top 20, depending on how good he has been this particular season because there is no absolute discussion that he is one of the best strikers of the world.

Villa is much more selfish than Torres I think.. Really annoys me when I\m wathchin Spain on Tv.. feels like if torres has scored villa just has to score, and then when he gets substituted he allways angry. Torres seems to have a better personality than villa.
