I am looking forward to him being "officially" recognised as the best player in the world.
I am also looking forward to the Ronaldo fanboys then.

"Hehe, Messi just had one great season. Ronaldo is still th ebetter player. He is so complete. Can Messi score a goal like that against Porto? EH??? Who is the most expensive player in the world???"

Aaaaah, it will be sweet. Would be sweeter if Iniesta comes in second. Then Ronaldo can say: "I am the third best player in the world, I used to be #1 & #2 as well."

see they are two complete different players with different styles...however, i'll prefer Messi in my team...Messi seems stronger cuz its hard to take the ball from his feet...messi scored a goal from outside the penalty box brazil in his U-21 World cup against brazil...i jus prefer Messi...if Man U were to sell ronaldo 80 mil then think of how much Messi would be sold...

I would as well. He's a more complete player. Ronaldo may be more flashy, but Messi is the real deal and works his butt off every minute of the game. He doesn't disappear in big games. He works hard on defense as well as offense. He has a better attitude. He's certainly not so full of himself. Ronaldo may have more of a physical presence, but Messi will always be the one I would want on my team. :2145960713mundoemot

lol ronaldo may seem stronger, but he certainly doesnt show it, the slightest tap and its a spectular dive. Messi is also such a good dribbler that to tackle him most defenders have to foul because the ball sticks to his feet like glue. :D

Messi is easily the best footballer around, its actually been a while since someone like him has come along. He can dribble well with both feet, fake with both feet and his body really well, he has absurd pace, a good left-footed shot and his best quality is....he doesn't go down unless you actually take him out and that is pure class. Sure everyone dives sometimes, but 90 percent of the time its the real deal. He is also a team player and has great vison/creativity with others. The only thing keeping him back from being truely deadly is his right footed shot, he needs to work harder on it although this year he was MUCH better with his right than the previous.

Messi is the closest thing there is to the great phenom Ronaldo. As good as Messi is, he's not quite there yet but hopefully he will be; he only just turned 22 a month ago.

I cant imagine the evil, inhumane things I'd do to see another player like Ronaldo come along during my youth, or even lifetime.

Every generation has a great, a true GREAT, this is ours. The only player of this time that will eventually be mentioned along with Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Di Stefano, Beckenbauer all that.
