Angel Cappa: "Neymar and Messi playing together has only advantages. Two mediocre players playing together, thàt is a problem." [rac1]

That son of a...

And to think that he used to be assistant manager at Barca.

What's wrong with that statement? It's true. Maybe you didn't understand it, he did not call messi and neymar mediocre.

Woops, I glanced over the word "only." Sorry Cappa, I apologize.
I interpreted it as him calling Messi and Neymar mediocre. But then I realized that Cappa was Argentinian.

Messi: "Luckily, my injury is behind me now. I have totally recovered. I'm very eager to start the new season, I'm looking forward to it."

Hungrier than ever before.

This reminds me of Argentina Messi. I absolutely cannot wait to see him play official games again, I've missed his play so much over the past months. He's looking as a sharp as ever and I have no doubts he will have improved yet again.

For me it sounds like "there might be problems if Neymar and Messi would be medicore players" but they arent so there are only advantages.

Fellas, lets be reasonable. Messi's contribution on defense, or lack thereof, is the very least of our worries.

Exactly, we should be worrying about our Defence's contribution to our Defence. The defence were shocking 1st half yesterday, i know they were out of shape and playing against a very good (and fitter) side, but still, looked amateur at times.

Messi looked his usual imperial self, when he actually got the ball.

Well, it was first match of the season against the best side in Europe at the moment... And Mascherano+Bartra is like a ticking bomb, you never know when it explodes

Are you saying Messi doesn't trust Alexis' finishing ability therefore he didn't track back to provide more distribution and passes? Messi selectly does that depending on who he is playing with? I just don't buy that, it is so absurd that it can't be true.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying.

Messi is in a better shape now than he has ever been. He is not getting ''lazy''. He is working way harder in training now than he ever did. There is just NO point in tracking back, dropping to the midfield and pressing when he knows for a fact 90+% of the chances he creates will be wasted.

That is why Messi prefers to preserve his energy, so he can get us out of trouble when we need him (which he does all the time).
