don't think thats a two month injury, they are just finally giving him time to recover properly.

He has been making to many 40 yards run under tata and tito, something pep almost completely took out of his game when he came in, he use to make those same runs under ricky as well.

They put to much burden on his muscles plus something most be off with his diet[/QUOT

What makes you think it isn't a 6-8 week injury then? Just out of interest not having a dig

just don't they have been rushing him back constantly for a good while now, their are just making double sure, since this is clearly not a injury he can play through until he recovers 100%

We should be fine in La Liga. Rest him properly and make sure he's FULLY recovered before starting to play him again. And take care of whatever other problem there is. We can afford this injury now, but we can't afford it between February and May.

It's not that Barca can't do it without Messi...it's just that I'm not enjoying the game so much without him...

We'll see if ''we can do it'' without him. Let's not forget how much we have depended on Messi in recent times. Neymar has big responsibitly probably now but let's see how he does. Without Messi we are again in a point zero, relying only pretty much in one player to do everything. We can do good things in La Liga, maybe not that good but still win games but i hope he's right back and full fit for the right time.

It is such a sad and depressing day. You saw Messi's face when he was waiting at the Seville airport, so much sadness, frustration and helplessness, and the same expression when he exited the plane in Barcelona, it is just heart-breaking. :(

Some say he simply needs to rest more. I agree that he needs to rest and let his injury heal completely and properly, for God's sake. I also agree his lack of rest in the past is taking a toll on his body. But I think there is more to it. As Don alluded to earlier, the lack of endurance training could be a big factor which might have contributed to his repeated muscular problems this year. Having a lot of rest can only heal his current injury, resting alone will not prevent injuries from happening again. More and strengthened endurance training sounds like a promising way to address the root cause of his injuries. Anyway, Messi and the whole Barca management absolutely need to get to the bottom of this and find out what's going on, whether it is his diet, his training regimen or something else. If heads will roll because of this, so be it. Messi's heath is of utmost interest to our club.

Be prepared for the worst, folks. It is not likely that after 6 or 8 weeks Messi will be back to the old Messi just like that. He will need more time to regain match fitness. More importantly, the psychological effect of these prolonged and repeated injuries on Messi should not be overlooked. We already know that he was a little timid because of it, he is going to be more careful moving forward, regardless of what Tata and Xavi have told him (to not be afraid of having a relapse and injuring himself, just be the old you etc.). Messi will need more time, hard work (by himself and the Barca doctors, trainers etc.) and a good amount of luck to regain his confidence in his body, his own ability of not getting injured so often.

I know it sounds a bit gloomy, but it might be a long time before Messi is back to the old Messi, if it is ever going to happen again. Or he might not, if this is not taken care of properly, he could be going downhill from now on, which begs the question: If Messi can't find his mojo back any more, if he is going downhill from now on in terms of both goals scored and impact on the game, would he still be considered the GOAT?

He should follow the example of Rafa Nadal, last year people were fearing the end of his career, but he took his time to rest and recover from a very serious injury (tendinitis problems in both knees) and came back stronger then ever this year. Fuck this year's Ballon d'Or, he should take his time to get back to 100 % for the knock-out stage of the CL and the WC.

Amen to this. Forget about Ballon D'or, Messi being healthy and fit is what's really important to us.
