Most people dont realise that.

Food for thought

"Messi scored his 74th ChampionsLeague goal with his 283rd shot. Cristiano reached his 71st goal with 445 shots.”

Amazing. But most people don't care for that.

I often get tired when people talk about Ronaldos shot to goal ratio compared to everyone and their mothers. Ronaldo is a great finisher, but he like to shoot from ridiculous distances and silly angles, to often. You could say that is a flaw in his game, not passing etc instead to build up an attack. It doesnt say all that much about his finishing. His longshot isnt that great i have to say.

Tired? Why? It just shows that Messi is a better finisher. Messi always was, bar this year. But this was due to Messi having a bit in form, not to cr being better.
It's funny how, for some media, cr and his 55 goals this year is having a stellar year, while Messi with 52 is often criticized, and pointed with having a bad year... that says a lot. Some bias, but also the bar Messi set so high for himself.

Maybe he is, thats not the point. According to shot to goal ratio Ronaldo is one of the worst finishers in football today, do you really believe that? But anyone who watch football, and not just stats from whoscored, knows that Ronaldo like to shoot from long distances more than many others. That surely has a good deal to say about it.

Yeah he takes more long shots, but not to make up for the nearly 200 shot gap between the two, although I could be wrong about that and the shot stat doesnt say he is a bad finisher but just an incredibly stupid football player.

I dont think Ronaldo is a worse finisher, especially inside the box I rate them quite equally, its just him being more self absored, caring more about his own glory thanthe team thus taking way more shots from distance and all angles rather than a Messi who shoots less, Messi is better at finishing from around the edge of the box by the way, Ronaldo is better at long distances simply cause Messi lacks the power for it and while cr7 misses most he is more likely to score from longshots.

Pretty well know he isn't as deadly a finisher as Leo.

I give Cristiano his credit but that is wrong to say he is equal finisher

He also takes a lot of penalties, and he also gets a lot of easy goals.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??

Cristiano is a very average finisher(compared to messi) and shooting more from distance has nothing to do with it.
If you have bothered to read this article http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/lionel-messi-is-impossible/ , you would have known that.

So, what's the situation about Baloon d'or? Is it going to be reopened, or not? Does Messi have a chance?
It would be a shame if he doesn't get it after these records.

When will he wear them?
I have no idea, but my guess is from the next game already.

Anyway, some interesting facts:

The all new adidas Messi mirosar10 boots are a nod to Messi's childhood, they town he grew up in, the town where he learned the game and scored his first goals, before taking the road to glory. The name mirosar10 translates from Spanish to 'my Rosario' with the number 10 Leo's number for both club and country.

The unique design reflects Messi's earliest footballing days with the orange of the boot signifying his first ever club and the green representing their fiercest rivals, who Leo scored 4 goals against in his first significant 11-a-side game as a young fleet-footed lad. The mirosar10 is the most significant of the Messi series due to its closest relationship yet with the player, every detail has a genuine link to the Argentine including insoles which are printed with a map of Rosario that features the Batallón pitch – an abandoned military base field that Leo used to sneak onto through a hole in the fence to play football with his friends.
