Weren't you saying earlier that Messi almost left at the end of 12/13 season (?), and only stayed because Tito had asked him to stay?

I would have shrugged it off if Messi had not said those deeply troubling words to Ole. But he did, and he had to mean something there, despite Jorge Messi downplaying the whole thing.

He almost left, things were bad. That was rosell's plan. Now that he is somewhat gone, and Messi is back to breaking records, not to mention the ban, he won't leave in 2015. But I'm not sure what will happen in 2016, though. If Laporta comes back, I think he'll stay. But if bartomeu gets reelected, I'm not sure.

There's no way Bartomeu has a chance of getting reelected. The only question is whether it will be this summer or if they can hold out till 2016.

If Messi goes to Chelsea, R.I.P. the chances of any other team winning the CL for at least the next 3 years. It'd be a nightmare.

after all this, one general question: are you (all) ever tired of the lack of transparency in spanish football?

There has never been a plan to sell Messi - you are starting to state your opinion as fact.

Reading between the lines Messi was briefly thinking about leaving as for the first time fans were asking questions about his work rate etc.

That and the fact Barcelona fans were starting to attack the players he was closest to - Alves, Cesc, Masch even by some on here.

There is nothing to suggest Messi is pining for Laporta to come back at all.

I dont understand all these people bitching about his workrate. At the end of the last season and in the WC he had some problems but his workrate has been fine so far.
Most people forget that Messi has to play for 90min every game the whole season. He is our only player who doesnt get any rest, except some games in the early stages of cdr.
I dont mind if Messi doesnt press much and doesnt defend, if that means that he is fresh and active when we have the ball. He is the best player in the world when it comes to deciding games and you guys want him to get consumed in useless runs?
If you want more workrate you can have Pedro.

Maybe someone can cough up some numbers about his workrate in say 2010/2011?

I don't believe Messi was ever close of leaving Barcelona. Barcelona will never want to sell Messi as long as he's dominating football and teams don't afford him anyway. Not even Chelsea/PSG can pay 250m.

Let's hope this is true.

I am sick and tired of hearing fans of other teams contemplating getting Messi.
