Messi when on form (recent games) is above everyone, his just a different animal from the rest. It's only logical for papers to sell you Ronaldo as his equal because A) is an amazing player on his own right, B) plays for barcelonas biggest rival, Ronaldo is simply not good enough to be Leos equal, his equal would do things he does on the pitch.

No, I have to disagree with that. Both Messi and CR are great players, however, like I said, when both are are in good disposition Messi is simply better. The records they are breaking are simply unbelievable.

Iniesta has not even been close to Ronaldo for the past 3/4 years.

Yeah when we look at the records sure, but football is more than a numerical stat (fortunately) which is specifically the thing that the media are trying to sell to create the illusion of a true rivality, a joke.

Personally I dont think he was although it was closer than it is now when Ronaldo has clearly been better and almost all neutrals will admit that.

It seems some people are scared to admit how good Ronaldo is on here. For me admitting just how unbelievable he is just helps give credit to how good Messi is.

Maradona wasn't the goal scorer that some of the greats are, but he's among the top 2 or 3 players of all time for the majority.

And Messi isn't just a better playmaker. He's much better at Ronaldo than dribbling and take-ons and passing.

Ronaldo has one job with Madrid: score (with penalties). And he's other-worldly at that right now. He's one of the greatest strikers the game has ever seen.

But Messi's isn't just a striker. He's the complete package. He's already at age 27 being talked about as one of the greatest the game has seen, arguably only Pele and Maradona have the resumes to match or exceeds Messi's (WC being the main thing).
