His finishing improved a lot these last several games.

Seems to me that the zarra record really affected his finishing , because once he broke it he scored that beautiful goal against Sevilla then proceeded to score a hat-trick against Apoel. And now another hat-trick against Espanyol.

I think it was his first goal before halftime against Espanyol, when Barca were doing absolutely nothing and utterly impotent and I physically uttered "oh my god" when he scored it. Because it was an insane goal--normal by Messi standards, but his standard is fucking insane.
