I for one am not unhappy that Cristiano won. Leo with something to prove again might turn out to be a very good thing for Barca. And maybe Ronaldo will lose some of his motivation now that he finally has won the Ballon d'Or again, which obviously means the world to him.

But most importantly: Real Madrid got nothing besides a sacked coach out of his WPOTY-year

Ronaldo is a worthy winner. I just didn't like the way the whole thing played out , extending the voting deadline gives it a very "rigged" feel to the whole thing. But whatever. More motivation for Messi.
