On the first challenge from the defender were he stumbles how many players would go to ground and just be happy with the free kick. I can think of one player who would happily accept the free kick and go for one of his hit and hopes but not Messi he thinks if I can stay on my feet I can dribble through the defense and score.
The thing is he makes it look so easy. Any other player and that probly is the best goal they will ever score from a dribble.

Yeah just dribble a defence like that and finish it. For Messi its a regular nice goal while a lot of world class players would only score a goal like that once or twice and it would be in their top 5.

The thing is, though, this goal doesn't look half as difficult on screen as it is in reality. And it still looks pretty amazing. There was this one video from a very specific angle that showed more of just what an incredibly stupid position that is to score a goal from, and at what speed.
