He was. He slammed the grass a few times b/c he was so frustrated, esp. after he got dispossessed a few times on one of his runs. Overall bad game.

Maybe the problem with Antonella's parent affect him, or he just had a bad day. The whole team did. It will happen again this season.

Not a good day but he did try. As I said in the chat, Messi's game consisted of: 87 touches, 2 tackles, 6 dribbles (though his dribbling was shit), and several attempts to create chances with direct balls. He did create 3 or so great ones that were either fucked up by teammates or called off by the ref. He was the only one dropping deep (about 40m from goal) towards the end to pick the ball up and drive forward.

Everything was going against him today. Malaga contained him to the wing, forced a style of attack that doesn't suit him, and marked him with multiple guys to mitigate his dribbling channels. This was an extremely poor game by Leo, but that's all. We expect him to do better but he tried here, no doubt.

I never criticize messi, even when he plays average/bad like today, that's because it's like he's surrounded by a bunch of toddlers, the weight is always on him alone.
When was the last time when messi had a bad game and iniesta/xavi/suarez/neymar/pedro/villa/sanchez carried the team on their backs and we still won? Never happened, not even once.
We have other top world class players that only look good when messi shines, they should do something themselves mby.
I don't care if the GOAT has 2-3 bad games per season, lol.

That is kind of understandable when he is he player the whole team is built on though.

When Messi plays poor for Barca or Ronaldo plays poor for Madrid it will have a bigger impact as those are the players the systems are built on.

Its not always all about Messi anyway. Suarez, Neymar and Messi have all been very important the last couple of months. Just Messi being the best.

Spot on. That is what I expect from Neymar and Suarez. Neymar is younger and can from time to time show his brilliance, but the other is just static.
I mean, when it matters, RM has Benzema no matter how much some think he's overrated.
