We will summon barcaforum's anti-jinx heroes then.

Messi is going to miss a hat trick of penalties. Then get sent off bitch slapping penaldo. Penaldo to follow up and score a hat trick of bicycle kicks. And Thiago Messi to become a garbage man. Heard it here first.

If we make a projection for the season he should end at 45 in La Liga, though his rate in 2015 is much higher than first half of the season, it all depends if he keeps it up or not.. I hope he does!

I hope next season Messi will participate in the first round of Copa del Rey. Those two games we played against Huesca this season, could easily have brought him another 5-6 goals, if not more.

"LordLichtenstein, he needs to be rested?"

How about this. Everytime he scores a hat trick, we sub him? That way, he can get enough rest throughout the season.

Also, I did some diggin'

Messi have 6 hat tricks this season.

Against Sevilla he completed his hat trick in the 77th minute.
Against Apoel he completed his hat trick in the 86th minute.
Against Espanyol he completed his hat trick in the 80th minute.
Against Deportivo he completed his hat trick in the 61st minute.
Against Levante he completed his hat trick in the 64th minute.
Against Rayo he completed his hat trick in the 67th minute.

This leaves him with 105 minutes of sub time or 1 x 90 & 15 minutes, and there are still 13 (maybe 18) more games left this season. I would be surprised if he didn't score a hat trick or two, before the season ends.

Oh, and he would probably have scored a hat trick in both Huesca matches, so his total would likely be closer to 2x 90 minutes.

Don't think it's anything serious. He's been kicked quite a few times, that's normal. He kept going till the end as the video shows.

I think (and hope) that pain he felt in his leg there was due to him getting fouled and kicked a few times. I doubt he would play on with the intensity he did had he felt pain coming from inside the muscle, he knows that feeling too well from previous muscle strains and injuries. He wouldn't risk it.

Great work!

The only problem is.... that if you start subbing off Messi after he scores hattricks, he'll intentionally stop scoring them because he wants to play :messi:

Subbing Messi after he scores a hattrick? Yeah, right... makes sense
Ultimately it would be for the greater good of the team and Messi, even though he might not see it at first, but this would allow him to participate in ALL matches, while also getting "rested" throughout the season, instead of just 2-3 matches on the other side of Christmas. Some might look at this as some sort of "punishment" for scoring a hat trick, but I see it as a reward.

If he agreed to this, I bet you he would score more goals. Against Huesca he could potentially have scored 5-6 or more. These goals would be his reward, because let us be real, he rarely score 4-5 goals a game, so why not just sub him after the hat trick, and let someone like Pedro, Sandro or Munir have some more time on the pitch?

When not to sub: Before the 60th minute or if we only lead by 1 goal, drawn or behind.

I am not sure if my logic goes through?

Messi plays every match > Messi scores 5-7 goals against low ranking teams in the 1st round of Copa del Rey > Messi scores a hat trick, he gets subbed> our 4th choice gets more playing time > Messi gets rested, minimizing his chances of getting injured and increases his chances of scoring in the next match.

Sub him by who ? Pedro ?

I don't think Neymar <> Suarez <> Pedro would be a good combo, with Messi out, they'll probably just all try to show they're the best and try all solo goals/shots
