Why shouldn't he? He would get slated in Argentina. How else will he prepare for the Copa? And why should he put Barca above his country?

It's the new "fatigue" syndrome, everybody is using it for everyone, it seems like La Liga should be played over 3years so everyone's fit ^^

As these two games are both friendlies and Messi is the undisputed champion of pacing himself, he's probably going to exert less energy on the field than he does in one of Luchos 5v5 training matches that they do on a daily basis.

He will be a little jetlagged when he's back since he's been in the US for 2 weeks, but other than that I think this could function as a sort of "training vacation" for him, which could have a refreshing effect, especially mentally.

News on twitter that he left the training and could be injured.
More news to come.
Feck that.

WHAT!? Source!? :(

That would be absolutely terrible news for our season...

International friendlies should be disbanded asap, what an incredibly bad idea they are. Seems players always get injured because of these.

He's only got discomfort. Nothing to worry about. Good that it's the international break now so he can be rested and fit for that awful April fixture-wise.

Messi is having medical tests in Washington, where he arrived last night to join ARG. He would have discomfort. [via sport]

Please let this be Messi faking an injury in order to avoid these dumb friendly matches and to get some rest! :messi:
