Meh, you're severely overrating this. Not sure this is important, and in any case, whatever chemistry they don't have I doubt they'll be able to get playing 2 meaningless friendlies, in which Messi is going to 50% speed. Not to mention half the team will be subbed by the 2nd half most likely. Heck Messi might not play the 2nd game.

He doesn't need it but it will help, you do realise the likes of Tevez have been recalled and they have a new coach.

Without these games his next NT appearance is a very tough group game against Paraguay, it won't be easy to suddenly gel with them again.

There won't be leaps gained in any meaningful area by these 2 games. Players would be better served for the tournament if they get rest.

It's not just 2 friendlies, its also several training sessions. Him staying home would also mean he misses all the training.
