Part of the contract with him playing in USA is to be present. Glad to see him and Masche rested for this one! Hope it's the same against Ecuador!

No, he wouldn't be faking it ofc. He always wants to play and I heard he wanted to play yesterday too despite the aching foot. But he barely could jog in training and Tata wouldn't use him.I hope that Messi is faking it so that he will be rested, protected and fresh for our upcoming epic battles.
They'll do anything for money in South America (same with the Spanish REF organising friendlies everywhere). Same with Brazil who ruined Ronaldo's career rather than let him rest now and again even when he had knocks or fatigue.
Sensible for them to let him rest yesterday. Ideally he'd have had the two weeks off because he had to really pace himself through the Classico last week.
