Messi is doing fine. Scoring one goal a match is still above average. It's just sometimes he decides when to call it quits.

At least he's not just standing with his hands in the air and chatting to the ref most of the game. Once we get to that point then either

A) He leaves

or

B) Change the team structure and not have it built around him

In fact we should restructure the team to wean off MEssi, because obviously it's not working anymore.

im done with all that. everybody played like shit. including Messi. the end of the world? no
im worry with the future. we are shit on the field with or without Messi. so, its easy to blame him.
plus, many things have to change. not only the way Messi is playing

His attitude needs to change. That much is clear. And we need a manager who isn't afraid to handle Messi and make him work hard. If he doesn't want to work hard anymore, than he should leave.

Just watch him play for Argentina under Sabella. The game against Romania for instance, he was the only player that gave a fuck. Running around and created danger the whole game. He was just magic, like he always is for Argentina, IMO. This has lead me to believe that he is being miscoached, there's no other explanation for me.

I'll bring up a point: Suarez is having an amazing season, yet only has 29 goals in 32 games. You know why that is, it's because he's playing under a manager with ideas and isn't afraid to mix them up.

You can say Messi isn't giving his all you want, but he has 38 goals in 38 games.... and loads of assists, and that's under a clueless manager.

Is that right though? he was suspended 5 liga games in the beginning of the season, sounds faulty

The only time when Messi was out that teams even brought their A game against Barca was against Ajax and Athletic. Consecutive losses.

Yep. People forget that...
He's not the problem. But it's clear the team çlacks a leader, who would scream and make the players wake up: PUYOL. After atletico socred, with 6 min, the team got lost. Atletico almost increased their lead right after that... Xavi is not like Puyol, neither is Iniesta. That's what they're lacking. barça today looked like spain against brazil in the confeds. Scared of the crowd and the opposing team.

Yes and they are both decent teams.

Other results just as bad and worse have happened with Messi in the team since he came back.

What the hell? Was he even playing? Didnt even try to dribble or make himself available. So static and no fighting spirit whatsoever. I would forgive him if he put in an effort but he looked like he wanted to be anywhere else than the pitch. Thats the danger in building your team around 1 player.

If he really is thinking of the world cup then he can fuck off to the bench. We are not Madrid where we keep playing selfish players due to their pricetag.

We have to look at serious changes if we have to be competitive again. Enough of our other attackers being waterboys for Messi. Getting an striker like Suarez who wont lay down for Messi might be beneficial. We need some ego in the team. Make our attack more varied with a striker.

He needs a coach who kicks him in the ass. It's no coincidence that he got worse as soon as Pep left.

Woooooooooord.

Not much he could do either tonight, completely surrounded by 4-5 Atlético defenders and Tata's tactics consisted of kicking long balls towards Neymar
