Messi was fine tonight and worked hard, especially in first half.

Elche defended well and Barcelona still had the chances to win it. Barcelona dont have the divine right to win every game.

The only thing that's disgraceful here is your comments.

Messi was the only player out there who represented even a remote scoring threat. If his performance was so disgraceful, I wonder how you would qualify the rest of the team.

Same old same. If Messi can't bail out Barça, he had a disgraceful match.

10 - Lionel Messi

He was vomiting before the game started again. I don't know what the heck is that, but something's up.
Too bad he couldn't finish that 1-on-1. If someone had accompanied him, a pass and a tap-in.

If he's constantly vomiting , that leads to dehydration . We can only hope that he's being rehydrated sufficiently.....

Nah only in the second half, first half he actually tried, second half he was taking a stroll like it was a pointless liga game that we were winning 0-3 at that point.

I agree with you except the last part. Wishing harm to a player like Messi after all that he has done for the club only shows what a spoilt brat you are.

The club comes first to me. It's a show of absolute disrespect to his fans and Barca fans for him to be walking on the pitch knowing that the team has a real chance of winning the title.

Also, I love this whole "superiority" complex that a lot of members in this forum have. "if you dislike player X, then you are a spoiled fan". At first it was very rage inducing, but then it just got downright hilarious.

I bet you would be perfectly fine with the team being in Europa League, as long as "player x is performing just fine".

He was good but his movement was off, sometimes he runs forward like a real #9, big part of why we make so many useless crosses into the box. I'm guessing it's Martino having no idea how the players have to move

That is what I dont get, why is he so out of shape in the second half, he is mostly walking around anyway, he should be much fitter.

I guess he was sick like Flavia said. He didn't look too fresh in the first half either. Worrying thing is that this is not the first time this has happened...

Baffling why people question his commitment though if he played through sickness and actually had an alright performance.

That's not true. He tried the entire game. The team as a whole was better in the first half and then got frustrated by a tough defensive team like Elche who have conceded the least amount of goals in La Liga at home, and haven't lost a home game in like 10 games now.

The team cannot depend on Messi and Messi alone to dig them out of trouble time and time again.

I dont blame Messi for the poor performance of the team, but he really wasnt good today not by any standards and is a shadow of his old self. Anyone saying something else is turning a blind Eye.

He did work but seriously, wtf is up with him??? A professional footballer should be a lot fitter than he is showing right now. To lash out at Messi is unfair but the observation is clear that something is not normal.
