The club comes first to me. It's a show of absolute disrespect to his fans and Barca fans for him to be walking on the pitch knowing that the team has a real chance of winning the title.

Also, I love this whole "superiority" complex that a lot of members in this forum have. "if you dislike player X, then you are a spoiled fan". At first it was very rage inducing, but then it just got downright hilarious.

I bet you would be perfectly fine with the team being in Europa League, as long as "player x is performing just fine".

He was our greatest threat in attack, 7 shots would usually lead to a goal. The problem with some members on here is they blame individual players for poor team performances.

A player with 7 shots is trying.

Not disgraceful but he doesn't have the focus at the moment to be at his best.

I don't think it's only focus. He was vomiting against getate, was again today vs elche. He doesn't look too well. Something's wrong. Physically or psycologically.

He is in terrible shit form. Please stop with those bullshit "saving for WC" theories. You think Messi won't care about winning La Liga because of WC. It can be one or two matches but not a game or situation like this. A good/prime messi could have scored a brace or hattrick tonight. But he didn't because he is in terrible shit form. IF you judge by first half, he has made pretty decent runs and created some chances but in the second half he was clearly exhausted. Not sure if it has anything to do with vomiting. If you judge by an overall performance it was average , but considering his finishing skills, Messi is just in 100% shit form. No one can undone that. This is not the Leo we have known for years, months, weeks.

Having said that, one can not simply wish him a bad result at WC. That too from a Cule. That is just not justified after two CLs and so many victories. Being angry is justified but not to an extent that you start behaving too dumb/irrational.

Who is at fault then? Messi? This guy has played as a false 9 for several years and now with a new coach his movement is suddenly a lot different than before, not hard to find the culprit

Alarcon, I like you man but your Tata hate is becoming a tad unreasonable. This team has a lot more problems than having a poor manager (which he isn't). Tata is not at fault to all that ails this team.

Some members were pissed at your comment because you seriously said you want Messi to fail at the World Cup just because he didn't play as you wanted him to. It's not a superiority complex. People have the right to be pissed at a player if he doesn't perform in important moments. But it's one thing to be pissed and angry towards a player and another thing to wish him harm. Knowing that the player is the one who had a big impact in our succes in recent years ,makes it even sader.

I hate to say it but he looks like he is vey ill for a while nowthen again Barca can afford top docters with the best tests so they should figure out what is wrong with him and probably would have if something was I hope.

He did work but seriously, wtf is up with him??? A professional footballer should be a lot fitter than he is showing right now. To lash out at Messi is unfair but the observation is clear that something is not normal.

Yes, he made one rush in the second half, after that he looked absolutley exhausted?maybe he was sick today and the last month.

I hope Argentina loses out in the group stages.

Keep that pathetic hatred out of here. We have enough enough weak-willed low-morale whiners in this forum. 2009 won't be coming back anytime soon. Time to leave the ship for you and save your nerves.

Things doesn't bode well for him in the WC... He looks like a different player, even his finishing is pretty bad at the moment...

Besides, does anyone actually think that him failing in the WC would make him more motivated for Barca next season or whatever?

He has been vomiting since his youth days before matches.

If it's something else physically, then I can understand. However, it seems to me like he's pissed at Tata's tactics and is rebelling against it by playing like crap.
