This forum truly baffles me.

I mean Pedro looked like a 3rd division player out there. Alexis, yeah he had great work rate, but he was as much of a scoring threat as I was sitting on my couch. Iniesta did not shine. Cesc was giving away passes left and right. Alves spraying useless crosses every time he touched the ball. Adriano did nothing but a close shot.

Yet, the most tightly marked player on the entire field was the one who provided the highest scoring threat and is the player receiving the brunt of the criticism.

Just befuddles me.

I still love Leo and will support him, but I have always agreed with this and said so for this whole season.

Why people assume because he is 26 he still has 4 years of peak. Most players reach their peak at 22-23 onto 28. Messi was at his peak at about 19 so maybe 26 is where he begins decline.

lol, people don't peak at 19. Physically everything is still there, he's out of form playing on a disfunctional team with a coach that doesn't have a clue and even then we still have a shot at the title.

Difference is, Leo is the only one you can't criticise, unless you want to be called a troll.

I don't see all other threads lighting up like this one. This, with Messi being the most likely to score in that game, and will continue to be the most likely to score of any game, even despite the collective mediocrity miring this team

 please Messi bail us out like you've done last season even though our entire club, from the board, to the manager, to most of the players, is in the shitters right now. Wow wow wow. Ungrateful bunch.

All the praise thats been given to Messi has gotten to his head. He knows he can play shit and still not be benched.

He is MUCH slower then 3-4 years ago, hes also not accelerating as fast, and dont move of the ball nearly as much.
Cant remember the last time he outran a player 1v1 where he didnt have 5m head start. Used to do that alot before.

I always presumed that Ronaldo would be the first one to fall into decline , ironically I expected him to lose his sprinting speed .
Instead , even though he's about 4 years younger than CR he looks to have lost his speed .

Messi is 2 years younger, not 4. He doesn't look to have lost his speed either.

Yea, its like noone is saying that the whole team and board needs a big overhaul....
Noone, including Messi, is above the team. And hes been really bad this season, not even top 3 overall in the team.

Easily top 3 despite been off his game and playing in a tactical set up that sees him get the ball far less.

Busquetes, Valdes and Iniesta although starting slow, has all been better. Scoing goals is not everything, you also have to work for the team.

Not to mention the first half of the season Neymar was clearly our best playe, even though we played quite bad then aswell.
