i cant really, his that good, but at the same time when my mind remembers the old messi, i cant help but think todays version is so watered . Back then messi deserved this, not right now.

Back then Messi wasn't marked by 3 defenders plus he had partners like Eto'o, Henry, Villa, prime Pedro to draw defenders off him not to mention he also had better delivery from Xavi and Iniesta but now he has only Iniesta plus can't finish for their lives Neymar,Alexis and Pedro. So, even though he is still the GOAT football is still a team game indivisually you can only do so much. Adding to that he has to contend with Alves' crosses against 6 ft+ defenders so you can't blame him much.

when did i ever say that wasnt the reason why messi is underperforming today? Thats part of it, yes, but you cant place blame only on that, theres been many matches where Messi has looked uninterested, and I think Im not the only one who shares this point.

As it stands Messi is not really having a great year, and people are gonna bring up the stats, but i cant believe people resort to this now when we all know what leo is capable of.

It's not like we spent 100 M on Neymar, it was 57 in the end. These days you can't buy really good players with low cash , plus this team needed someone like Neymar. Imagine wanting to compete for all the trophies with only Alexis and Pedro as top players in the offensive line besides Messi.

Also , I would have no problems with the board spending 80 M this summer for Suarez.
