The only way that stat makes more sense if your counting point winning goals, as in the team was losing and player scored the final goal to earn the team a point, or the team was tied and player scored final goal to earn the team 3 points. Then you'd have more a reason to single out the player as specially having won the team some points with his effort.
But even then, you'd have to look at each goal individually to discern if they were simple conversions, or if they were significant individual efforts that you can say not many other players would have been able to reproduce.
Then you'd also have to take into account other players contributions like what they did to get the player in question in position to make the point winning goals, etc etc.
In conclusion, that's a very broad stat that doesn't really allow you to reach conclusions on an individual level.
