Unless Messi & Argentina wins the World Cup, or Uruguay wins it under Suarez, I think Ronaldo will almost have a shoo-in in winning the BD. Any other team winning the WC will have little bearing on the outcome of the BD, I am afraid.

To Leo winning the world cup is by far more important than getting another Ballon D'Or. It logical as his name will be written in history along with Maradona and Pele.

I am not as confident for him winning it as I was a year ago but who knows and seeing Di Maria on fire yesterday had given me hope for the Argentina. Team moral is most important and it can bring Messi's magic back,
