Opposite of lazy statue. Brazil defended against him really well though, putting 3 players on him all the time.

Messi 2010 >>>. So much nicer to watch. 2:27-2:51 is especially great from Argies and Messi.

look at that 1-2s in the passing part :worthy: too bad we didn't have it this season and decided to give it to Alves for a useless cross every time

Jesus Christ, I hope this messi comes back next season.

Edit: I really hope he hasn't permanently lost his pace, He hasn't run at his full speed in like a year unless you count the Getafe goal and that wasn't top top speed. I hope he was just saving himself for the world cup or tactics or something like that, he's too good to be done at 26.

 Worked his ass off for that goal.

On another note, David Luiz hack job at 4:43. If the first kick to the legs doesn't take him down, hack him again, and pull him down for good measure. You'd think he'd been training with Mourinho for years. Don't need that butcher crap at Barça.

This was frickin' hilarious- entire outfield 10 players on Messi, 5 Barça players offsides.

Damn, I really want him to win the World Cup now.

BTW I really think the kid changed him a lot, and not for the better (professionally) unfortunately.

why do you think Thiago changed him professionally?

I can see the logic with that; fatherhood is a big deal. He doesn't seem as emotionally invested in the game in the past 2 seasons with the walking and all. His family is important to him and gives him an important outlet in his life that isn't football. He doesn't devote himself solely to the game anymore but to Antonella and Thiago as well. A player stops being "the man who plays with nothing to lose and everything to gain" when he settles down. He simply has more priorities in his life now.

Then again, another valid correlation is that Messi's most animated and ambitious days were when the team was under Pep. That was a time when every player was devoted to the cause (like Atleti under Cholo) and hungry to conquer Europe, willing to give everything for the coach. Both Tito's and Tata's reigns as manager never really gave that aura to the team, not even close. I'd really be happy to see that return because that's what made Barca so exciting, the unity as a team determined to win and do so beautifully.

I don't know... cr also has a kid, and irina. Iniesta too, even lost a baby recently. Most players have families, anyway. I don't think being a father affected him on the pitch.

Yeah, maybe. I'm just going off of the vibes he gives during interviews when he talks about his kid. I don't see that with the others.
