so God damn true...But Di Maria and Romero have been the only help Leo has been getting, and I'd put Sabella where Romero is

Whenever I have seen him he looks more full of energy and a box to box player rather than someone that is clever in possession.

Dont think he is the answer for that at all, no one in team is better at Messi than that it would be absurd to move Messis position in team

The balance of midfield is all wrong. Gago has had a poor season with Boca. He is not helping Mascherano defensively and he is not contributing enough attacking wise. Perez is the ideal replacement for Saturday. He is also fresh and raring to go.

Perez attacks, defends, picks passes dribbles and will provide options for Messi. Too often the front four are getting isolated as unlike in the qualifiers Gago is sitting too deep.

And when Messi is double/triple marked there is no one to utilize the space created.

Will Sabella do that though? he seems so conservative and unwilling to make necesary changes?

So far there hasn't been any sign that Sabella rely on Perez. He hasn't got even 1 minute so far, while certain players keep playing and keep playing below par. I'm afraid we're not gonna see much needed changes in the team for the next match. Maybe Sabella needs to waste another 70 good minutes to make changes.

Gosh sabella is a disaster, cant he alteast watch a motivational you tube clip , and recite it to the team in spanish? the team looks null and void. Its sad cause they will get humiliated by belgium and it will be messi will take the blame. Its sad.

Yes it is really sad that Argentina produces some of the finest coaches and yet this is the condition of their national team...AFA is corrupt as f*ck though

Lionel Messi is the player who created most chances (18) and completed most dribbles (24) so far this World Cup

Yesterday when di Maria scored I scream louder then when my country scored against Brasil. This is not good. My love for little argentinian is getting too strong now. I think I won't be able to watch football after he's gone. :)
What a player...all football...and yes, he is in Barca!

anyone got a comp video of messi v switzerland?

Yeah Ive been trying to watch comps of his matches so far on youtube but theres no videos like that so far.

http://vimeo.com/user23057465

This channel has his first 3 games and should have Switzerland soon.

Still plenty of people saying Messi isn't what he used to be etc etc. They don't seem to realise how difficult it is to shine in this average Argentina side.

I really hope he gets past Belgium... crashing out now is just not good enough and in 2018 he will be 31.This is his best chance for a last 4 appearance and if he can lead them through with a decisive goal or assist/play then no one can say he's not performed for Argentina.

Thanks Kerry

and yes I agree with you, too many people still questioning him, I just don't see how they could be questioning him right now, I don't really see a BIG decrease yet, maybe he needs to still move a little when he doesn't have the ball, but so far his workrate has improved since the Bosnia game. If Messi had not scored those goals, then maybe my perspective would be a little different, I would lean towards the "his not the same" crowd a little bit more, but I don't know what people are expecting from Messi honestly, take on a whole team?

I don't know, its weird. We as human beings just love to complain about things I guess. I'm glad that the argentinian crowd is on his side now, they love him now and value him for what he is.
