Messi didn't really start that great during Tata's debut. He got injured against Atletico in the first leg of the supercup, missed a great chance and a penalty in the 2nd leg. Then in the league, while he was the top scorer in the league with 8 goals, his all around performances wasn't really that great. IIRC, I thought that Neymar was our best forward even though he had scored less than Messi.
