Barçapocalypse NOW!
Pffft, way past his prime, lost his speed and dribbles, can't finish chances, only walks the pitch... He's probably saving himself for Copa América and 2018 WC...

Amazing how every season that goes by we are still amazed. This guy is beyond this earth. Top scorer in la liga history !

What a fucking joy that was to watch. His dribbling seems sharper than last year, he presses, he runs, he shows fighting spirit. Only 1 game but my god, a Messi back to form for the rest of the season is better than any signing.

This.
But all I want from him from now on is that he remains like that in all aspects if not getting even better by enjoying it more like he used to do:messi:

Our old friend Balague stated on Sky in the UK, that some of the wiser heads, told Enrique they would work harder if they actually saw Messi work. We will run if Leo runs so to speak

Would give it a thought if Balague actually got something right regarding Barcelona at times.

Messi is easily the best player on the team even if he never worked or trained. I don't get why they would even think that when he is the one always scoring.

And so, another season begins for the legend that is Lionel Messi. Just 7 goals away from stealing the top spot on the list of La Liga all time topscorers. Telmo Zarra sits at 251 goals and tonight Messi bagged number 245. Throughout the last 6 seasons Messi has scored 1,130 goals per game in La Liga, so he should make history within the next 10 La Liga games. I would expect a video of all the goals to be released by the official channel, most likely with some 90's background music (thank you for the mute button, world). The prospect of 10-15 minutes of nothing but Messi goals, is all the more reason to be excited.

Screw belague wiser heads sure buddy you keep selling yourself !

I think Messi just saved himself for the WC like we all talked about and he can't be blamed for that he won the man of the match award by us fans hands down and got injuries which forced him to miss a few months total.

Disagree- this was a far different (and better) Messi than we saw at the World Cup. He's part of a system again, not just walk around until "here's the ball, do something."

Good job Lucho- whatever you put in Leo's water, keep doing it.

He was brilliant but I'm still reserving my judgement on his work rate after seeing him play in an away game or two.

Hopefully, he plays with the same intensity and if he does - he's simply unplayable.

The most positive revelation going into the season is undoubtedly the return of Messi - cannot deny we saw a different Leo than most of last season, for whatever reason...If Leo is rejuvenated, it will have a ripple effect
