Since it seems like he's back to the "old" Messi, I wonder if it really was the WC (coupled with injury issues and his vomiting problem) that caused the perceived lack of motivation last season. If he continues to play at this level in the next few matches, I think any worries about him permanently declining/being "finished" will be gone.
