PSG and City are limited by FFP though. Bayern have said they won't spend ridiculous amounts of money on South American players. Chelsea and United would be the only realistic options.
Yea...I wouldn't put buying Messi past Bayern. They are in very tight relationship with adidas and have money to burn. If Pep wanted him and they saw commercial benefit they would spend money.

They could get around ffp by paying the transfer fee in instalments.

What has happened recently, leading up to Leo's remarks?

Barca is not doing well this year against top teams. Leo could well be monitoring that situation, it would be silly to just assume that he would stick around for years with a Barca team that is not winning big titles.

There are a lot of assumptions being made that somehow Messi and Laporta are best buddies. Laporta just let it be known that he is meeting with representatives of CR7 and Mou. Messi might be concerned that Laporta could regain the helm.

Messi could be concerned that Barca is heading down the ridiculous path followed by most other clubs, changing managers and other management way too often. He may just want stability.

Wenger is no fool, he is already wooing the world's best player. Arsenal could be exactly the type of new home that could lure Messi. In three years.

Calma, calma
This explains Mourinho's praise for Messi in the summer. Throwing the hooks in early..typical :mou:

I don't want to see Messi at Man City, that's too boring.

I can't even believe we're discussing this shit. Last season Rosell and bartomeu tried to sell messi, besides that they allowed every scum of the earth accusation hit him without protection. He has every reason to leave but for his love for the club. messi just amped up the pressure and gave laporta and benedito the ammunition they need. they already succeeded in ruining the best team of this century and stripped one of the most important people in the history of the club and kicked him to the curb. at this point i don't even want to see them in 2015. The more games we lose, more pressure on them. stay in there messi, it wont be too long.
