If how you interpreted it is true, I am a bit more relieved than yesterday. Again, I am much more worried about an unhappy Messi asking to leave/to be sold than the board wanting to sell Messi. Despite what some of us believe, I still think this board is not fully retarded to pull a suicidal move like that.

If you read the quotes correctly you would see that Messi doesn't want to leave, he said if it was up to him he would stay forever. He will only leave if the board wants to cash in on him.How could you interpret it any other way?

Can anyone do a quick recap of what's going on? Haven't bothered following football news during the international break.

it might has to do something with the tax invasion case. he surely doesn't want to leave, but if his lawyers think his case is weakening and there are any chances of him being convicted, it might be better for him to leave spain and continue playing football elsewhere which definitely would be priority.

Make no mistake, of course Messi doesn't want to leave if things are all good. However, he made it clear not all is well at Barca. So despite his intention and preference of staying with us, things could become so bad that force him to leave/make him think about leaving.

That's all I am saying. Why is it so hard to understand?

Messi won´t leave. There aren´t many Clubs who could spend such an insane amount of Money anyway.
Would be weird seeing him somewhere else.

I've been saying this for over a year now that Messi will be pushed out of Barca by the crooks that Manage the club. They want to cash out on him in order to build the new Camp Nou. And I repeat what I have been saying for many times that the only way for cules to accept the departure of a Barca legend is :

if you help hurt his image and show no support,
play him where he's not comfortable to make it look like he lost his touch and
bring in players that take the spotlight off him.

Thanks the heavens, Messi is a true sport and unlike freaks such as CR7 he doesn't let scores get into his head. In fact he turned into an assistance machine but at the end Messi will leave when not many fans will stand by him.

He has never suggested that some unhappiness would make him leave. He has stated time and time again he wants to stay forever. He is only leaving if asked to leave or if he is forced out which is essentially the same as being asked to leave.

I'd like to think he is probably just pushing for another contract renewal( he really likes those :messi:). The board isn't dumb enough to get rid on a GOAT. Not for Neymar, Suarez, or anyone else.
