He doesn't need to outrun them. It's not his style as his strenght has never been speed. He is a small guy afterall. His strenght is dribbling in between players, and you dont need superb speed for that. Only a low center of gravity and good technical skills. Extremely unique. He made many of those breakthrogh dribbles against Switzlerland.

You really don´t know Enzo Perez. lol. Gago is the main problem in the midfield. Too slow to defend and gives no input in offense.

Whenever I have seen him he looks more full of energy and a box to box player rather than someone that is clever in possession.

Dont think he is the answer for that at all, no one in team is better at Messi than that it would be absurd to move Messis position in team

Who´s talking about moving messi? We´re talking about taking Gago out and put on a real player than can give real intensity to the midfield duo.
A bit like Paulinho and Fernandinho.
