Messi was probably the best player in the knock out stages. He didnt score the most important goals arguably Suarez did. It is unfair to make out Messi allowed other players to shine by getting Barca through on his goals vs Bayern.

I think he was a bit frustrated, probably with himself, as he is clearly not 100% yet. He smiled after he scored.

In general. Looked more tired than angry, frustrated IMO which isn't a surprise as he's rusty and just came back from that injury.

The truth is both Messi and Suarez offered huge amounts of assistance for Neymar last season. I wonder how things will enfold now since Messi is back after Neymar took over in his absence. I'd love both to create and assist each other equally much.

The truth is that last year a large part of Neymars game was not to get on ball early it was to make runs in behind for Messi/Suarez to find him and to open up space for them.

A job he did fucking brilliantly.

You cant expect Neymar to assist and score the same amount as Messi when the whole attack is built around getting the ball to him and getting him in dangerous areas.

Maybe now it will be a bit different if more balanced.

Not saying you cant expect Neymar to score similar goals but you cant expect the same number goals AND assists in last years team.
