Is this the first time he has had problems with his abductors? If I am not mistaken this is the same problem that has been ailing/paralyzing Robben and Kompany. Messi'd better take it seriously and not rush it at all.

No, not the first time i think, early in 14/15 he missed the First international break with the same problem if i remember correctly.

Heard that he will play against Uruguay, with discomfort, in a couple of days. Not a fan of that idea at all, especially with thugs like Godin on the pitch.

Argentina boss Bauza reveals disagreement between Barça and Leo Messi
Blaugrana star ignored the club's medical advice and travelled home to join national team

The Argentina national team manager Edgardo Bauza has revealed the dispute between Leo Messi and the FC Barcelona medical team that has taken place in the last hours.
The Barça doctors recommended that Messi should not travel to his home country given the groin and thigh soreness in his left leg. The player, however, insisted in attending the Argentina camp, ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualification games against Uruguay and Venezuela.

"The club recommended against him travelling but he said 'No, no, I am travelling'", Bauza stated in an interview with Fox Argentina.
The player returned to the Catalan capital after the game against Athletic at San Mames with muscular pain. Following the relevant medical checks, the club stated that Messi would be travelling to his country "with a consensual medical note" between the Blaugrana and the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

"The evolution of the soreness will determine his availability to dispute the programmed games", the official Barça statement concluded.
Messi, who had announced his interntational retirement after losing the Copa America final, decided to return to the national team after personally speaking with Bauza in Barcelona earlier this month.

I don't like that he seems to do whatever he wants sometimes, even if the club decides otherwise. It's something we can accept as long as it doesn't happen frequently.

I understand that he loves Argentina but he needs to be cautious and not risk everything for that Argentina team at the expense of his health/fitness/form and the club.

It's an issue we are going to have trouble with in the next few years.

It was pretty bad last season when he played 90+ minutes for basically every game since he returned from injury.

Problem is there isn't single person at our club who wants to be that guy who said no and pissed off Messi.

You're welcome
Lets just hope that he ıs a sub and Argentına plays comfortably wıthout hım so he feels he doesnt need to play.

Very understandable decision by Leo. He doesn't want those stupid people over there to start blaming him for faking injuries just as he is making his comeback. If it was under different circumstances, he would stay in BCN like many times before.

worry not
We have options in case he gets a serious injury :D

It feels good to have a squad this big.. even a messi injury doesn t scare me as it used to scare me

Funny how people still understimate Messi's importance :)

If it wasn't for Ney's brilliant take over last season we would have been screwd... so no, "squad" doesn't change that no one except Neyboy is capable of generating chances for us if Messi's injured.
