Of course Uruguay was better. Covered everything well. Not many crosses were allowed at all. Impressive.

They dominated nothing but possession and were frustrated as were struggling to break through.

Uruguay defended for most of game.... as were winning for most of it.

Atletico do it all the time. Watch them.

So has Atletico won the CL? How many trophies have they won since Diego was appointed as their manager?
Compare them to teams that like to dominate the game like RM and Barca.

It does work except when it doesn't.

A cross mere inches away from connecting to the target is just as much a matter of "unpredictable circumstance" as a shot inches away from going in. And Portugal definitely had more than one chance.

They were predictable in attack and didn’t create clear chances apart from Bernardo silva chance which was from goalkeepers mistake.

Atletico are up against superteams with much bigger resources than them, another silly comparison.

Haha great argument...

Atletico are massively punching above their weight through tactics similar to Uruguay tonight.

Uruguay defended and played how they needed to and won as Atletico have done countless times.

Next time they win like that you can scratch your head and mouth off about being dominated and no one will care.

Come on, Portugal were by far the better team.

Uruguay scored 2 goals and just parked the bus like Atletico parks the bus everytime they face Barca or Real Madrid.

Portugal were close to score more goals and if it happened no one would have called Uruguay the better side.

He won’t. Said he wouldn’t until he wins something for Argentina. So alternatively, we could see him playing for them a really, really, long time...

Did he say this recently? Doesn't even have to win the wc, just a copa would do so much for him and Argentina..

Even if he doesn't win you can respect him fighting until the end to try and make it happen. I was so disappointed in him when he retired the first time, hopefully he won't make the same mistake again.

Argentina are only gonna go downhill. They have no fringe players or young prospects that could come in and be great additions to the team.

Back after 2014 they had Dybala, Vietto, Kranevitter, Rulli, Correa, etc. as potential breakout players. Only 2 of them even became good players and none of them have had any role in the NT. Who do they have now who can potentially come in? Far fewer names and worse talents at that. If that generation of prospects couldn't do shit then this one absolutely won't.

And then you account for the fact that Brazil and France are in a golden generation so the next WC and Copa are just out of the question really. If Arthur comes good this season for us and is a starting midfielder for Brazil in the Copa, they'll have pretty much every ideal role filled to the brim with talent. No way can Argentina reconstruct in under a year to match that. Even Colombia look like a far, far better team than Argentina now.

sometimes i wonder if some people watch the game.

saying portugal dominated

:rofl1:

Well they did, scoring with the only 2 shots on target they had and parking the bus isn't dominating a match.

Do you think that Atletico dominated against Real in the 2014 final during regular time?
