You can tell he cares more about Argentina than Barcelona now, there is no arguing this, the motivation and determination of Leo for country is much greater than it is for the club. He looks disinterested for us now even when he is playing well. There is a fire that burns inside his belly when he plays for Argentina which is unfortunately not here anymore. Rarely rises to the occasion anymore.

Yes I know he has saved our bacon in La Liga many times this year, but there was no pressure in those matches.

He does care and can easily argue against that.

Messi has faults like any other player but not caring isnt one.

Does lack intensity though and him in middle with team deferring to him exposes that and slows things down to much. Basically leaves it as only a wonder pass from Messi is about only way to break a team down.

no wonder he's not as clinical in finishing as before , these days he needs to go in the fucking mid 90% of the game to create something

Partly that is true but him trotting to the defensive mid area and getting ball is not helping either. It makes it too easy to defend against.

He was good considering he had little help.
Shame he missed that chance in 1st half, otherwise game could have turned put different.

He may care for all I know, but his body language on the pitch and his will to win when things are not going well certainly don't exhibit that. It is all mental, would not be surprised in the least if he reinvents himself in the summer and takes his game to a new level next season.

Lucho being tactically inept does not help. He knows Leo won't play RW anymore but yet still pencils him in there, in turn leaving the right hand side of our attack completely empty and makes it easier for teams to defend. As a result Rakitic moves into his place, Roberto fills in the midfield and we are easily manhandled on counters and in the midfield.

I dont really follow RMA but from what i can tell CR7 is tbh much more decisive for them lately, especially in big games. We have one player here scoring clutch goals while the other one has been gone missing.

I'm sorry Messi would have scored your so called "clutch goals" too if he were allowed to play offside.

I am not only talking about yesterday.

edit: not to mention the astronomical difference in work rate. CR7 is running all over the place in order to help his team while Messi couldnt give a shit.

Ronaldo is a pure goal scorer these days, his sole responsibility is to score goals and he has become more of a poacher. His goal-scoring techniques are still very good and that's why he is racking up those goals.

Messi's role is completely different and he has a much heavier burden.

That's said, I really, really, really hope Messi will perform well in big games again. Will he ever?
