Sorry I can't take you seriously any more. Sure it's your opinion only, but at this point I would rather have the likes of Modric and Isco than Ronaldo. Heck, too bad Messi can't have Ramos in Argentina or Éder to step up when it matters.
Ronaldo was average for the big part of the season, and seasons before he wasn't nowhere near crucial. He's a great player in a great team, but so is Modric.

I have never taken you seriously so dont feel bad about it.

Ronaldo is their best and most effective player and it isnt even close.

You can rather have Modric or Isco if you want but I would wager every single top manager would take Ronaldo who has scored goals and won without thiose two.

Heard it all before about how Di Maria was there best player.....All wrong. It is Ronaldo and by a long way.

Was nowhere near average across last season and was unreal in the business end when it all matters.

Messi's a far better technical footballer than Ronaldo, but he lacks the drive Ronaldo has.

How many times have you seen him get the ball in a good goal scoring area, but rather than shoot decides to pass it off to a team mate to either let them score, cross it, or initiate a one-two. Ronaldo's far more direct in that sense, if there's a chance he can shoot, he will. The team know he's the hitman, and they play to his strengths, somewhere along the lines Messi or the Club have decided Messi needs to get the best out of everyone else rather than the other way around.

His off ball movement is also piss poor at times too. Ronaldo is always on the move, even if he's not as quick as he used to be. He'll try and get behind the defence or make the movement to make himself available. Messi can often be guilty of walking around the pitch without a care in the world, or just wondering behind a cluster of the opposition players to prevent getting the ball, in the end he drops deeper to pick it up off the defence.

In my lifetime Messi is by far the best player i've seen, but sometimes his laziness/lack of will to run infuriates me. So good yet almost seems like he's not trying half the time.

Not as simple as that and in games where Messi doesnt score or create and Ronaldo bangs in goals against the top teams in CL he is more effective.

Messi cant be the best player year after year on what it is precieved he can do. Have to go out there and do it in the biggest games as both can kill poorer teams.

True, Messi hasn't been much of a big game player since 2013 when he orchestrated the comeback against AC Milan and PSG in the CL. The only one I remember since 2013 was last season's epic El Clasico at Bernabeu.

2014 Classico at the Bernabeu

2015 ManCity (both legs)

2015 3-0 victory against Bayern (!!!)

2017 Classico at the Bernabeu

These were all career defining games, there are also other big games he was crucial(most games against Atletico in LaLiga and CDR,Cup finals rtc)

Speaking of big games, his worst season against big teams were the one he scored 73 goals, ironically.
Season before that he bossed it against pretty much any team, but scored "only" 50-52 goals or something, numbers can decieve.

using CR7 as a reference point to cite Messi as lazy is equally bad as arguing CR7 is a nobody because he doesn't have Messi's supreme talent on the ball. in the area of fitness, dedication, and motivation, CR7 blows every football who ever played out of the water, similar to how Messi's talent is out of this world. I don't see how Messi can even be remotely criticized as being lazy when he has averaged 50 goals a season for the last 9-10 seasons for Barca. The man had his pep golden years before Suarez even entered his peak and while Suarez is finished now, Messi is only marginally worse than his peak self. CR7s insane drive comes at a price, Messi is an otherwise ordinary family man

True, but there were ‘t many big games in the 72 goals season (2011/12) to be honest.

He dominated the Spanish Supercopa, scoring in both legs.He didn’t scire in the 3 Classicos during the December-January period, but he was good iirc.He didn’t play well in the final Classico and in the Chelsea games though.

Come on guys, a guy who scores 50 goals per season has to be the best player in his team. It doesn't matter if his overall game is poor, goals are what win you games.

Ronaldo didn't win jack shit from 2009 to 2013 because Real was a far worse team than it is now, the same can be said for Messi and a Barcelona team without Xavi and an aging Iniesta now. But it's obvious that Messi and Ronaldo have been the best players for Barcelona and Real Madrid over the years.
Messi is the better player between the two though.

There is a short way from heaven to hell in the world of football.
We did get a league title and a cup(2?) during those years, and very close to a CL-final.
RM-team from 10-12 wasnt much weaker than current side, imo.
