10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Rusty or not the game changed when he came on. This team is nothing without him.

Barca should not have to rely on Messi like Argentina especially after splashing close to 400M in the transfer market.

You can thank Valverde for wasting time on Gomez, Paulinho and benching Semedo, Mina.

Just makes the difference. Doesn't even have to be anywhere near his best either. And okay so the keeps should have saved it. But who's complaining, ha ha. Love this guy as a footballer so much.

It is not just him playing good it is the positive aura around him motivates other players to push harder and attack better. He is a great motivation to the team.

Barca are Messi , if he isn't there we will win nothing. As for wasting money we have just blown hundreds of millions on Coutinho and Dembele and if thats our future we are in big trouble. Both CBs should be dropped next game too and Semedo should be our starting fullback but only this clown of a manager seems to think Roberto is a better fit there.

The only problem with Messi being so good is it papers over the cracks. Because we're really no-where near as good as our unbeaten run suggests, I don't think. But because we keep doing just enough (Mainly due to Messi) Valverde can get away with it. At least until we meet a decent team in the CL and boom, it's :lol:like late-period Lucho all over again.

Coutinho was one of the few player who was making things happen today. You can't expect him to score a 30 yard curler every game.

My patience is running thin with Dembele for his lack of defensive effort when his offence is not doing well.

Both of them were poor today probably Dembele the worst . None of them were worth anywhere near the cash we paid for them.

I actually thought Dembele offered more threat than Coutinho. Did far too many sloppy things of course, and yeah, got bored it seemed of tracking back after about half an hour, but he created a half chance for Coutinho, almost assisted him from a cross, created a half decent shooting opportunity for himself that okay he ultimately scuffed, but he still created it well with good feet. As for Coutinho, who played an extra half too I should add, apart from one blocked shot which may very well have gone in, he really didn't do much at all in terms of creation. Actually no, I've just remember a good cross he put in, too. Maybe a similar level of productivity then. Even so, I'm still expecting more. He's still incredibly sloppy in possession, too. (As is Demeble admittedly, but he's like six years younger.)
