The thing is, I don't think the coach is doing him any favors by allowing this or at least not encouraging him to make an effort. The reason why he walks isn't because he's lazy. The man loves nothing more than to play football. The reason, as I see it, is the pressure.

There are these enormous expectations of him to not only perform at a top level, but to consistently produce something magically that no-one else can. Something like that is extremely anxiety inducing. It paralyzes him. It's not a pleasure for him to receive the ball anymore. It's a duty.

What he needs to hear from his manager is that it doesn't matter if how many moments of genius he produces. He has one responsibility and that is to put in the work. I'm convinced that that sort of thinking is the only thing that will set him free.

If it was any other player we would be asking for his head. Forget his performance his attitude was shocking. Not to mention Dennis Suarez levels of performance.

And people slate a young player like Dembele for his attitude when our captain is looking disinterested on the field.

This is where a manager steps in to address this. Too bad we don't have a real manager.

We hope it is not just this match, but that he has continuity...

As soon as Suarez returns:

Totally disinterested, kinda looked like shocked how bad was the midlefield with ball distribution and posession and didnt have faith in other players, with alena's smart positioning he regained his spark but.. Seriously, ev needs to go, sooner better, under him every star player in our squad is underperforming. I dont want to see messi in this system, wasting his talent because its clear as fuck he needs an attacking team, which we have and its logical, but not under this idiot of manager. Fuck me, its serious, he needs to go.
