yeah he really should have passed to dembele at that time. i saw that play several times and idk what he was trying to do. since passing to dembele was the obvious choice, maybe he thought he could trick the defender or the angle wasn't right? i'm sure he's not that stupid to try to help suarez score when the score was just 1-0

Pretty sure he felt sorry for Suarez and was trying to feed him.

You're welcome
I don't expect Messi to do that in the CL finals. Probably because it's early La Liga. Still too risky though. Should've just setup Dembele for the 2-0.

I don't expect him to either, but that's mostly because I can't see this team making it to the finals

Valverde needs to sort this. You can't have players like Messi and Coutinho not involved in the game like it happened in that second half. They should be the two players with most touches on the ball. I hope it's mostly to do with that awful pitch.

Poor, but at least he was getting involved, trying and failing. I'd be worried if he zoomed out mentally like he used to do before.

he won't win the ballon d'or now

Ronaldo didn't do himself any favours yesterday. I saw him fall over the ball twice on a good pitch. Might be modric who wins it

It's not the first time this happened.

And Dembele is not the only it happened to.

Messi sometimes end up with a tunnel vision where he always tried to feed Suarez instead of playing the open man.

Maybe Messi needs a new challenge as well. Maybe we should listen to offers. Legends rarely retire at Barcelona.

I'd personally rebuild all the attack and look to sell both Messi and Suarez. I'd sell Messi for 300m. Don't think anyone would pay close to that though.

Or we can get in a better manager and get rid of Suarez.

If Messi hypothetically ends up leaving it's only going to be to one destination and that team and manager don't need more help.

Messi is still by far the best player on this team and the reason Barcelona right now are favorites for the domestic titles, and why certain players also want to join Barca.

Sure, we can do that as well. We'd get a ton of money for Messi though. We could build a new team with young talent.

Messi and Suarez together are a bad combo though. We need to split that up and for that we need a top manager willing to take the difficult necessary decisions. Whoever will be against that needs to be sold no matter the name.

Zidane's Madrid, Pep's City, Klopp's Liverpool, Allegri's Juventus, all these teams were or are manager-centric. Whatever the manager decides it is a rule every player follows. At Barcelona the senior players decide. Not the manager. The manager just tries to do his job and not piss off too many veterans in the team.
