Why would Ronaldo win it? He didn't do much in UCL KO's stage like a year before (When Real won the double and he had deceive goals), he had a poor run in the league and the WC. I don't see how he is going to win it after losing Real/Perez support.

Modric is winning it this year, times have changed. would love to see the look on Cristianos face but i guess he wont turn up at the ceremony
It’s crazy that Modric won this one and this didn’t account for the World Cup either... maybe this year will be the turning point.

Why, and how? If modric is the uefa best player, and fifa world cup, which clearly is in modric favour, how could he win it? Messi actually has a decent chance to overturn things in his favour in this couple of months, and has a decent cl group to get apprecieted once more as a efin goat. Modric deserves it, ronaldo deserves it, messi deserves it, salah deserves it. For me thats an open battle right now. Thing is that cr pr would do wonders to save the tears of the diva, but la liga right now would also do wonders to promote modric and messi because its in their interest that best player is from la liga.

2016 he won the Euro 2016 with his country, Real Madrid, took the Champions League.
2017 he won La Liga and outstanding performance that won him the Champion League.

Why is so? Golden boot, best player of la liga season, most goals and assist. Thats enough to be contender

Best player who won the World Cup: Mbappe
He won't win it but I honestly think Salah deserves it from an individual perspective if he plays well over the next few months. He was easiy the best CL player in 2018 imo, has similar stats to Messi/CR, and did as well as he could at the WC considering his teammates and his injury.
He also achieved this with a midfield of Henderson, Milner, and Wjanaldum.
