UEFA really messed up with the Scheduling, if they wanted too Conmebol could of screwed them over by having both Neymar and Messi miss the CL final.

Actually, they can't do that. The club doesn't have to release players for the tournament.

"I don't know if with Messi and Luis Suarez we are the best trident, but we have entered into the history books and for me it is a great honour to be part of it,"

Arrogant Neymar being humble again.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
No actually i think he'd do great if he played with them , especially if Barca won the CL. Messi played all the league games this season for the 1st time of his career , and he didnt miss any of barca's CL games . El Pulga Relieves himself while playing , he's so smart that he only gives a lot of effort only when the team needs him the most , like what we saw againt Bayern , City , and Real .
I wanna see him break Gabriel Batistuta Record for being the Top scorer of Argentina , Messi needs 19 goals to do so , it perhaps impossible to score 19 goals in one copa america , but im pretty sure Messi will break this record soon or later .

With batistuta being my all time fav player I hope that's the only record messi doesn't break.

According to FIFA
"Once players are called to represent their national team, the club to which they are registered will be obliged to release them on the dates stipulated in the International Match Calendar (IMC)[1], as well as for the final competitions of the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations Cup and of the championships for 'A' representative teams of the confederations organised by FIFA. In such situations, no agreement between a player and their club can overwrite these obligations[2]."

Copa America isnt organizated by Fifa, its by CONMEBOL

The camp for the Copa America starts before the CL final which mean they would be required to report to international duty before the CL final. Brazil even has a friendly the day after the CL final on the 7th. I think the released date was the 29th of May, there is even an article on it.

Even though, it's not a FIFA tournament it still falls under the jurisdiction of FIFA. It could of been an ugly mess on both sides if Conmebol decided to be pricks.

Thx for the input. Though i still don't think barça could in any way be forced to release players before the end of the season
In a situation like that, the players are holding lot of power IMO. Argentina is Messi and Mascherano, Brazil is basically Neymar. You wouldn't want to sour the relationship of your star players.

Exactly, as much as they all want to play the Copa America and genuinly want to help their nation win it, they also want to play and win the Champions League.

"It'll be the biggest game of my life there's no doubt, it's a final that every football player wants to play, and we'll do everything to come out as Champions"

"When I was young, I always dreamt of this and now I'm about to live it. It's like a world cup of clubs, and every player that played it says there's nothing else like this. I hope we can win it"

"It's very difficult that three south-americans, that are rivals (cf NT) can get along as well as we do. We are very close outside of the pitch. Our cohabitation, and the joy we feel when we play together is what brings out the magic on the pitch."

I don't think Fifa are in a position to dictate anything at present.

does being obliged to release them imply that the club is bound by law or contact, etc to release the player or does it mean that releasing the player is common practice when required by his international association.
