I would have written a well thought argument to your first line but your second line just saved me the trouble as that showed its not worth it.

Had the same thought when I saw your name on this forum and I'm actually not gonna bother myself anymore with fans like you. Lack of neutral POV here.
I really like Neymar, but I'm not afraid to say the truth when it has to be said.

He was good last 20 mintues against a poor team, yes.

Not quite. Imo, he was amazing for 25-30 mins, good for a large portion of the game, and bad in some moments. So he was mostly good, with several great actions, some amazing moments and some bad, uninspired plays.

Dude are you even real? I thought you were trolling at first. The fuck has my forum name anything to do with fucking anything?

Exactly whats wrong with people against him. Unreal expectations.Scored twice, created 2,almost scored a golazo and kept the game with flowing with some nice forwards passes but all you need to look are his misplaced passes.

You can stop expecting anything from him because he will give performances like these all the time so stop judging him with unreal expectations...or just lower your expectations maybe..

Why should we lower expectations? He is supposed to be a future Ballon d'Or winner and Barca spearhead, but his performances are not up to that standard this season... Sure he scored, and as I said, that's always good news, but what's so unreal about wanting him to actually have some sort of consistency in his performances? Today I felt that once he had the ball the rest of the team just didn't click, except when he played the simple pass, like he did in the second goal... The fact that he can score even when in another wavelength is testament of his talent, so I don't think it's too much to ask from him to sync better with the flow of the team...

I didn't say he was terrible nor that he should be Messi, I just think he need to have a more meaningful impact in our overall play as a team... More passes like the one to Roberto in the second goal and less tap ins after rebounds (figuratively speaking)... Again, that's not to take away from his goals, because he still has to be there to score them and that's invaluable by itself, just that for all the trouble and hype surrounding him I feel he still has something better to offer and hopefully against strong opposition like we all know he can...

Man, you'll have a hard time being a Barça fan when Messi retires, because the era of superhuman Ballon D'or players like Messi and Ronaldo is coming to an end.

Welcome back to "normal football". Adjust your expectations if you want to keep enjoying the sport.

IF you are saying he had a good game but he should do more, thats perfectly fine. We all know this wasn't his best and he has potential of doing much more than this. What grinds my gears is the general consensus on the forum that even though he had a good game he did not have a good game because he is neymar who we payed a record fee and until he walks on water or parts the seas it will all be bad.

Good or bad is always relative to player's abilities, so in my opinion he was average/correct, but yeah I could agree on saying good-ish performance given the circumstances...

His impact in the game was greater than his overall performance, so it feels kinda weird to complain about it, hahaha...

Plus, when the time will pass, people will just look at his stats and say: he played awesome in 2016, in 201x etc.
For example, in these 5 matches he has 3 goals and 5-6 assists.
That looks awesome on paper.

But for anyone who watched matches, it was like:
1. Alaves=horrible as a leader without Messi and Suarez
2. Celtic=awesome in 7:0 trashing
3. Leganes=awesome in 5:1 trashing
4. AM=MIA again when we needed his magic (or MSN's magic in general)
5. Gijon=very good in 5:0 trashing, especially when Gijon played with 10 men

Some new kids will come one day and say: guys, are you crazy? He was a Uefa player of the Month, one of top goalscorers blah blah.

In reality, for now, after 5 matches, his season is still hot and cold.
He was good and he scored+assisted in all trashings.
In matches where we really needed him (Alaves, AM), he didn't make any impact.

He played well today, and for now his stats looks very, very good.
But again, for anyone who watched all matches, his level in these 5 matches was just meh/average compared to a level of a 2nd best player in the world or a future Ballon'D'Or.

Let's see how he will continue in other matches, but as some others (Antimadridista, I think) already said, I would rather see him score 1 goal in every match (against good and bad teams) and scoring only 35-38 goals in total, than scoring 5 goals against Leganes and Gijon, and having zero end product in tougher matches (even though he will have 50 goals on his tally that way).

I would like to see a consistent guy, and a not a CR7 type of a player who is rap**ng small teams in 10:1 victories and statpading with goals in 8:1 trashings and scoring hattricks in the last 20-30 minutes of these matches when our opponents are virtually a dead meat lying on the grund.
(This is not about Neymar only. I would hate if Messi or Suarez would only statpad in these kind of matches, especially in the last 20-30 minutes of these matches, in CR7's style)

Griezmann has been playing much better than Ney for the last year, and to the pain of my heart, you could even argue that a horse like Bale had a better year than Ney, so I'm not asking him to be superhuman really, because even for normal football standards, Neymar is not on top this year...
