How about confessing to hoping to see him fail and even betting on it? Because that's exactly what BBZ has done and reiterated a dozen times. Unless you mean wishing for your own players to fail, which in turn is detrimental to Barca, is okay too?

You see it as: I wish a player to fail.
I see it: if he will play awesome=win-win.
If he fails, let's move on, take the money and run and invest in 2-3 players.
In that scenario Barca could buy (just an example) Pogba+Reus for the money+wages from Neymar.

which in turn is detrimental to Barca

If Neymar can deliver CL trophies in (higher or at least equal) rate in which we were winning them before him=keep him.
If not, then something is seriously wrong with our team and 150-200M could be surely invested differently.

But this will soon turn into: CL is a lot about luck, quality is not enough blah blah.
Well, our teams in 2006, 2009 and 2011 manage to merge skills, luck and some bravery.

If we fail to win a CL this year, that will be 1 out 4 ratio (with Neymar).
And since we have even MS playing with him, some questions need to be raised.

Even though, even then, we will still have these type of facepalm posts about his goals aratio against Celtic and Leganes all the time:

He is one of ours and he is doing good. If you don't like his way of playing, fine. But you can't dispute the fact, that he has a hand in a lot of goals/victories each season.

2013-14: 41/26 = 0.63
2014-15: 51/46 = 0.90
2015-16: 49/51 = 1.04
2016-17: 06/10 = 1.67

No other player in the world comes close to numbers like these except; Messi, Suárez and Ronaldo, so how about giving the guy a break.

Anyway, Neymar's stats only in 2016 (not this season included):
Neymar in 2016:
Barca:Espanyol 0:0
Granada 4:0, 1 goal
Bilbao 6:0, 1 goal + 2 assists
Malaga 2:1, -
Am 2:1, -
Levante 2:0, -
Celta 6:1, 1 goal
Las Palmas 2:1, 1 goal
Sevilla 2:1, -
Rayo 5:1, 1 assist
Eibar 4:0, -
Getafe 6:0, 2 goals
Villareal 2:2, 1 goal (pen)
Real 1:2, -
Sociedad 0:1, -
Valencia 1:2, -
Deportivo 8:0, 1 goal
Gijon 6:0, 1 goal (pen)
Betis 2:0, -
Espanyol 5:0, 1 goal + 1 assist
Granada 3:0, 1 assist

Champions league:
Arsenal 2:0, -
Arsenal 3:1, 1 goal
Atletico 2:1, -
Atletico 0:2, -

(I won't even comment about CDR since no one anymore takes that trophy seriously).

Anyway, last 25 matches (without this season).
Was there any match where he was a key factor in a victory?
He played meh against all big teams in 2016 (Am, Real, Am in CL) and ok against Arsenal early in 2016.
In La liga his last goals against bigger teams were in trashings of Bilbao and Celta in January and February of 2016.

After that he is invisible or a non factor in all Barca's bigger matches.

This season, he started the same.
When we need him and when we play without Messi, (Alaves, Gladbach) he is poor or meh at best (Gladbach with 16 lost balls).
Though, he at least improved against Mickey mouse teams. Last season (2016) he wasn't scoring even against poor teams.
This season he is at least statpadding against those.

When he will be a key factor in some 1:0 victories or against bigger teams, that remains a mystery.

Against Alaves no one in the team stepped up and against Gladbach he was the one creating the most chances despite being poor.

He hes around 20 goals and 20 assists in around 36 games in 2016. He is playing and producing goals/assists as his job.

Take the CL games for example he was class across the two legs vs Arsenal and even wih Suarez goals was probably the best of the front three vs Atletico. Trying to just write of those games as 1 goal in 4 games doesnt even tell the whole picture.

Absoluet farce to say if dont win CL then 1 in 4 with Neymar then 'questions need to be asked'

In other words,if Ney can't bring at least as many CLs as Messi surrounded by prime Xavi,Iniesta etc, then we should sell him.Seriously? :redbeard:

Personal level comes as much from the 'Ney haters'. Probably more so.

Constantly get called fan boys or the tired old comeback of people sticking up for him being new supporters etc.

Try and say the those things about other player and you get accused of trolling but for Ney it is open season to troll anyone who supports him or sticks up for him.

Not sure man....I criticize many of our players after a bad performance, even Messi and nowhere do I get as much spank as on this thread.
Probably because many of you see him as a future hope that we all must cherish, be grateful for his presence, like a gentle flower growing, always watching not to get too loud because that flower might wither.

That second paragraph is the usual crap that the likes of you come up with to try and ridicule those who have a different opinion to Neymar than you.

Well done on proving the point.

If you try and mock Messi or those that stick up for him or attempt to break down all his stats to make him look bad etc you will get the exact same reaction as you get on here.

Tables here turn quickly, huh?
Suddenly, it turns out that all of the people here are being terrorized and mocked by couple of non-Neymar-followers...a victim card. Nice play.

What on earth are you on about?

You just doing as you normally do and rambling personal, sarcastic rubbish the type you try and moan about others doing.

No victims here..its a forum. Just point out your hypocrisy.

Your posts...

I was turning the focus away from the "hate" card that is constantly being thrown here and people bringing things on the personal level.
That "internet speech": hashtags, hate, labels, cheap sarcasm humor, etc

Not much later...

That's not cheap humor, but an actual world view here.

You're welcome
Funny. At this moment I am having the same discussion about what constitutes as sarcasm with dakt in another thread. XD
