the thing with arguments is.. sometimes it gets to the point where people no longer give a damn about anything but to "win the argument". at this point the dialogue become useless.

Griezmann has been playing much better than Ney for the last year, and to the pain of my heart, you could even argue that a horse like Bale had a better year than Ney, so I'm not asking him to be superhuman really, because even for normal football standards, Neymar is not on top this year...

Griezmann is ok. Bale? God no.

Was neither good nor bad imo. Better decision making while hogging the ball but the execution was average.

I think the people thinking he had a very good game are as subjective as the ones who thought he was garbage.

It was an average game for sure with his execution and decision making. But he is without a doubt the most important player to our attack with Messi out. Nobody comes close to his creativity currently and even on his off days the opposing teams still have to account for him because of the potential danger.

Plus, when the time will pass, people will just look at his stats and say: he played awesome in 2016, in 201x etc.
For example, in these 5 matches he has 3 goals and 5-6 assists.
That looks awesome on paper.

But for anyone who watched matches, it was like:
1. Alaves=horrible as a leader without Messi and Suarez
2. Celtic=awesome in 7:0 trashing
3. Leganes=awesome in 5:1 trashing
4. AM=MIA again when we needed his magic (or MSN's magic in general)
5. Gijon=very good in 5:0 trashing, especially when Gijon played with 10 men

Some new kids will come one day and say: guys, are you crazy? He was a Uefa player of the Month, one of top goalscorers blah blah.

In reality, for now, after 5 matches, his season is still hot and cold.
He was good and he scored+assisted in all trashings.
In matches where we really needed him (Alaves, AM), he didn't make any impact.

He played well today, and for now his stats looks very, very good.
But again, for anyone who watched all matches, his level in these 5 matches was just meh/average compared to a level of a 2nd best player in the world or a future Ballon'D'Or.

Let's see how he will continue in other matches, but as some others (Antimadridista, I think) already said, I would rather see him score 1 goal in every match (against good and bad teams) and scoring only 35-38 goals in total, than scoring 5 goals against Leganes and Gijon, and having zero end product in tougher matches (even though he will have 50 goals on his tally that way).

I would like to see a consistent guy, and a not a CR7 type of a player who is rap**ng small teams in 10:1 victories and statpading with goals in 8:1 trashings and scoring hattricks in the last 20-30 minutes of these matches when our opponents are virtually a dead meat lying on the grund.
(This is not about Neymar only. I would hate if Messi or Suarez would only statpad in these kind of matches, especially in the last 20-30 minutes of these matches, in CR7's style)

Okay, so basically, Suarez and Messi didn't have an impact in the games against Alaves and AM too. You don't seem to have a Problem with that? Only with Neymar.

No MOTM Performance and average for his Standards, but nevertheless a good game. Nobody should have a Problem with this Kind of Performances from him, you can't always expect a masterclass. I absolutely don't get the criticism in this case.

Great game. I don't know what the fuck you doubters have against him, but at this point it seems it's just a matter of personal taste. Who seriously here thinks the Barca of 2014-15+ is lesser than that of the interregnum between Pep and Lucho? And who would seriously argue Neymar is not a big part of our recent successes? Considering we're fighting for the toughest league to win (where else does it take 90+ points a year to win the title?), and that we are well-past the Pep era and yet still remain a top three European team, I think we're doing just fine.

And, again, Neymar is a big part of that.

I don't know what the fuck you doubters have against him (...)

I know.

If he wasn't here, ~Super Pedro~ would still be playing for us and this is the wound most guys here just can't heal.

Imagine Messi or any other club legend turning into shit in a blink of eyes (just like Pedro) and then some expensive flashy new kid showed him the door all of sudden (just like Pedro).

Add to that all the mismanagement in the signing and BOOM. We have enough reason to be butthurt and start to hate the new guy.

Most people here witnessed the "bye bye Pedro" saga and know exactly how things got this way.

He wasn't much better in the second half, though... Scored twice so that's always good, but still nowhere near the level that's expected from him...

My point was you were judging him based off one half where he was below par.

I never said he played great. My point is you can't overreact over one half to prove a point.
