Dembélé could've easily negotiated for a buyout clause if he wanted it. He can't now hold the club accountable for something he missed out on, let alone paint himself as the victim that has to bruteforce a move away from the malicious Dortmunders.

When BVB players were being poached for years by Bayern and other clubs for cheap deals, free transfers and buyout clauses then people said BVB has defeatist mentality and have too little balls to stand up against their bullies. Now that they finally do it, it's also wrong. Or at least it is for as long as it hits my club.

Absolutely. I mentioned this before. He and Barcelona should have had a Barcelona clause for 60m or so. This time last year the amount would have been seen as crazy.

The market is currently inflated after the Neymar deal and will return to regularity somewhat next season. Dortmund smell blood and this Dembele fee is extorion.

If it was up to me I would just improve the squad with buyout bids in LaLiga. Said it in the transfer rumours thread. 140 million euros for Carrasco and Trigueros. Done.

Next year there will be a new hotsh*t that everyone is raving about.

i remember back at the beggining of july they were only asking for 90m, moneymar's deal surely fucked us big time.

other clubs should know that neymar's case is different, he's top 3 players atm and he's at his peak, plus he's the most marketable player on the planet, he'll add more values to p$g (they sold 10.000 of his shirts on the first day), someone like dembélé on the other hand...

Other clubs dont give a shit about Neymar, they only give a shit about those 222ME they know Barca have in their coffers and they want as much of it as possible. That's capitalism for you my friend

He seems to be pulling a Mascherano, refusing to work because he wants the transfer.

What the player wants tends to end up happening. Not what he kind of wants, what he convincingly wants. These guys get paid awfully well, but it is not slavery, employment requires continuing mutual consent. By downing tools, he is convincing Dortmund to do the deal.

I think they want to close Dembele fast now, and then concentrate on Coutinho and will pressure Liverpool and Coutinho into selling for big bucks. Basically, think they realize that there is no point in buying avg players, it must be top top prospects to not lose sight of Real.

Yep that's my take on the situation.

Get Dembele and then grind away at Liverpool . Trouble is time is running out fast . A couple if ex Liverpool players said today that if it's going to happen it has to happen soon to give Liverpool time to find a replacement .

That is very true, can't see a talent with a good agent going to Bundesliga now without a buyout after Keita and Dembele saga. obviously Bayern will be an exception.

Because Dortmund and RB won't bend over for "bigger" clubs? Please.

Because those players see those club as an opportunity for bigger move and it was blocked, while players who has that clause moved with even lower price. Keita himself has clause that allow him to move next year with less money than they were offered and RB still blocked it. I actually respect their desire as a club, but agents will take notes.

Guess those players shouldn't have signed lengthy contract if they wanted to leave whenever they wanted, no? Neither Dortmund nor RB are obligated to sale simply because some "big" club wants their players.

Also, your logic is contradicted by Neymar and Mbappe choosing PSG after they refused to negotiate with Barca over Verratti.

Haha.. where are the " sell neymar and buy X Y Z " squad. Hope this woke them up. Money dont mean shit in todays football. You have a world class player you want to keep thats about it we have 220 m on paper, but in reality its worthless.
