He oozes talent but is trying too much. Also, it shouldn't be forgotten how little football he has played during the last six months. Needs a couple of goals to give his confidence a boost. Coutinho's arrival should also ease the pressure he feels.

He did well enough and has everything Barca bought him for.

Will be a great player.

its not about what he has its about what he offers.. ibra had it all, ronaldinho had a lot in 2007, yet both were deemed not good enough to wear the shirt, because they didnt offer enough. we wish dembele the best of course.

Yea, shooting is clearly to be improved. At Barca he's bound to get at the end of chances. So he needs to improve his shooting technique.

When Ibra left and ronaldinho left in 2008 neither had what Barca were looking for.

The thing is, Dembele doesn't think that the Earth circles around him (like Ibra) and is more motivated than the 2007 Ronaldinho.

When he gets into rythm, adapts tactically and develops bonds with other players, he's gonna be great.

that s my whole point. ibra went after that and became beast again.. im just stressing on compatibility and adaptability.. there is no telling if dembele is going to.be top or flop because individual abilities are certainly.not enough at the very top level.

Not to mention his personality too. He reminds me of younger messi in personality. He needs heaps of mentoring from the old guard.

people writing him off already i sure hope its trolling. the guy is 20 at the best club in the world, coming back from a 3month layoff. he's played 3 or so games, give the kid a damn chance.

He looked nervous as hell at the beginning and tried too hard to impress. After he got his head down he got better. Still rough, but miles better from the Celta game.

One player in, one player out and we see 100s of good and bad changes.

With Dembele today, we have football which looks more beautiful for the eye and we had a few awesome individual actions.

On a team level, at least in the first 45 minutes, we lost EV's famous midfield and defense stability.
It is NOT because of Dembele, as a player.
I am not saying that he is not tracking back, that he is not defending or anything.
It is just that our formation looks totally different, and we have "holes" on a lot of different places now.
We have too many wing players now and not too much balance through the middle, especially in defense.

One thing that bothers me (at least during the first 45 minutes) is that our right flank was overcrowded, but not in a good way.
Too many times it felt as if we play both with Roberto and Semedo in the same time (2 players playing in the same area).

Roberto, Dembele and too often Messi played in the same area in Levante's half and it seemed as if we played with 10 men.
On the left flank we had only Albe, and on the right, at times, we had 3 players Roberto, Dembele and Messi.

I know that they will click better over time, but still, I would like to see some positional changes.
Either Dembele moving closer to the middle (but then he will clash with Messi all the time), or Dembele going to the left.

My personal impression was that a team was "all over the place" in a positional sense, similar to how we looked in the past when Iniesta and Rafinha played Cms.
Or how we look when Denis is a Cm.

So, Dembele is surely an awesome individual.
But how will we fit him into our team and how will we tweak our formation is a whole different story.
Not often I agree with you but I do on this. It could be a consequence of playing Dembélé as a RM and not further up but the right side was heavily congested due to an advancing Roberto, a deep dropping Messi and an eager to please Dembélé.

I still feel that unless Messi plays as a RW Suarez will continue to be the bottleneck and we just don’t have the personnel to play a 4-2-3-1.

I think that Coutinho's arrival will help Suarez a lot. EV trusts 442 formation and when attacking Coutinho will be able to go forward and occupy space Suarez does at the moment. That should be a huge boost considering chemistry they have.

Suarez Messi
Coutinho Busquets Rakitić Paulinho/Roberto

Should be fine

And where does Dembélé fit in all this?
