See what I did there? Same retarded argument the likes of you are making.

Just curious. What makes him 'dumb'?

Where did I say he's dumb?

Just saying that him being ambidextrous doesn't mean he's not dumb nor that he has high IQ. In the post you quoted, anyways.
No argument there.

I've written few times he doesn't seem the smartest lad in the town to me. Never argued anything, just an impression.

Just curious. What makes him 'dumb'? Seen a lot of this lately, throwing around how he's dumb, but no one willing to give a concise argument or evidence proving he's dumb.

Makes those making these comments dumb actually. Which is funny.

I think this whole thing of questioning his intelligence can be traced back to the interview where he paused and seemed confused when asked if he is left or right footed.

I think you are right - it started that way. The interview is more funny than revealing anything about intelligence, though.

Should have started. Paco Jemez's tactics are perfect for an attacking player like Dembele. We could have won this fucking match so easily in the first half like we usually do against smaller teams with such an approach.

Just because you're able to open the internet on a laptop, computer or your mobile phone and post a comment on www.barcaforum.com doesn't mean you're not dumb.

That was not a valid point, but I expect nothing more from a guy that claims he can see the future and judge a player based on one game, and rated Aurier like the best thing since sliced bread.

Sit down and stop making a joke out of yourself.

This is what makes it baffling. We had so many spaces to use in the first half. Dembele and Coutinho were perfect for this kind of game.

A full day after the game and still can't get my head around it. How the hell did Valverde think that a safety first approach is the best course of action away to 18th placed team in the league.

Too many draws with lesser teams will be our undoing this year, you can feel La Liga slipping away

I am using that phrase the most I guess, so I'll reply what I personally find as dumb among football players.
Note, this is not a scientific study or a fact, just my personal view, as a casual football fan, what I find as dumb in footballers.

In shortest, it could be a sum of random wtf moments during a match, for example, some dumb players (and examples why I find them dumb) from our recent history:
1. Alexis Sanchez
-- 100s of random wtf decisions during matches
-- inability to run for longer than 10 seconds without slipping
-- tripping over the ball all the time

2. Halilovic
-- lots of bad decisions during a match
-- teammates often looking at him and saying: wtf are you doing?
-- him fighting with coaches
-- one incident when we showed a hush-sign with a finger on a lip to journalists during a youth NT World cup
-- in his case, lots of other random off field stupid decisions and unprofessional behavior which could be connected with low IQ/bad decisions in general

3. Adama:
-- let's dribble past 10 players every time you get the ball. No comment needed

4. Deulofeu (and Tello, more or less)
-- one trick pony
-- lots of bad decisions
-- teammates often looking at him and asking: wtf are you doing?

5. Alba:
-- some wtf moments in attack
-- lots of wtf moments when he is commiting stupid fouls and yellow cards
-- arguing with everyone way too much
-- in general, you just get a feeling that he is not a brightest guy

6. Mascherano:
-- had some wtf moments and inability to understand some football principles, for example:
-- a coach says: don't kick a ball upfield, try to keep a possession. And then, we are leading 1:0 and he has the ball in our box in the 93rd minute and instead to kick it upfield, he makes a dangerous pass to a Gk and is risking us conceding a goal in the last minute. Then reporters asked him what he was doing, he replies: a coach told us that we have to keep possession and not lose the ball
(Yes, but that doesn't apply for the 93rd minute of the match.)
-- or, I think that it was against AM in a CL 2 years ago. We needed a goal to win, and in the 93rd minute, instead of passing to Messi, Iniesta or to some other creator, he took the ball 30 meters from the opponent's goal and tried a longshot and ruined our last action. I mean, ok, he tried, he wanted to score. But a guy doesn't understand some basic principles and things like: risk and reward percentages in a certain moments.

Anyway, these are dumb players in our team.
I don't find Xavi, Iniesta, Busi and other guys dumb. They are quite smart.
Messi, Luis and others have some dumb decisions from time to time, but still, if you make 1-2 bad decisions from 10 actions, that is one thing.
If you have 5 bad decisions out of 10 actions, that is a problem then.

So, in our current team, Alba is quite dumb.
Deulofeu and Mascherano weren't the brightest guys.
From other guys, I have some doubts about Gomes (due to his horrible displays and decisions) and about Semedo, but they are nowhere near a level of Alexis, Alba, Deulofeu and similar.

Now, regarding Dembele, I have some red flags in my brain whenever I watch him playing, slipping...

And I have no idea what to tell about that interview:

Then he has some childish wtf moments on matches, bad decisions, problems with shortpasses, doesn't know what to eat, those problems with injuries which might have been prevented, he doesn't know how to stretch properly.
It could be that we are exaggerating.
But it could prove easily in the future that he really isn't the brightest lad.

And without brains, even with all technical skills in the world, it is very unlikely that you will reach the top.

Time will give us more info about Dembele's IQ and mental skills.

I want to take your posts seriously but lately I really can't.

Nothing Dembele said in that interview about his preferred foot is wrong or makes him look dumb. If you've been following him for more than a month you'd know that he's extremely ambidextrous. He has said on multiple occasions that he prefers dribbling with his left foot and shooting with his right and that's exactly what he said in the interview. You're the only one getting confused here. The reporter asks him which foot he prefers and he says his left foot because that's the foot he usually uses to dribble. When asked why does he shoot penalties with his right he mentions the fact that he shoots better with his right. Go watch the interview you posted again and you'll see for yourself.

Even if what you're saying about him sounding dumb in an interview is true, which he doesn't, how does the way a player speak have any relation to his footballing skills and IQ? You surely don't think Messi is a dumb footballer, do you? Because I can find many interviews and clips of him speaking like he's sort of autistic. If we go by you're criteria of judging footballers by their interviews then Messi must be really dumb on the pitch, which he clearly isn't.

Give it a rest man, stop concocting these weird, abstract theories with zero evidence. Dembele not knowing how to eat like a pro or messing up passes doesn't prove he's dumb, but rather the fact that he's very young. Every player makes mistakes on the field and to equate that with having a low footballing IQ would be asinine. Funny how you consider Dembele to be 'low IQ,' but you defend and ask for a player like Paulinho to be in the starting XI when he has no sense of positional discipline, can't pass, dribble, defend, flopped at Spurs and is coming from China, nor can do anything worthwhile on the pitch, but somehow he's supposed be a bastion of footballing intellect at 29 years of age while a Dembele who had 10 goals and 20 assists as a rookie in the Bundesliga as a 19 year old is supposedly "dumb."

Your agenda is clear as the lack of substance and logic in your posts.

If we signed griezmann and sold this flop to Arsenal I wouldn't lose any sleep over the move in fact I would be over the moon.

He had one okay season at Dortmund which was his breakthrough season and we decided to panic buy him because of Neymar departing.

Why did we need to replace Neymar so urgently? Change the system play two up front Roberto in midfield semedo at right back.

Dembele is not ready for a big club like Barcelona he needs to go on loan.

Tbh the dressing room doesn't seem to like him much from reports I've seen and I don't know how happy he is, I don't want to say he's crap but we don't have time to wait around and see if he clicks

Telling the truth? Get real.

I would rather stick with Dembele than buy Griezmann if it comes down to it and plus both are two entirely two different players in the first place, one is a SS and the other is a FW/Winger. We don't have anyone in this squad worth a shit that can stretch the field out like Dembele as Messi decided to stop going on the wings ages ago.

also that "The dressing room doesn't like him Schick" is nothing more than Don Balon nonsense. He's been getting quite a bit of support of the field alone by the likes of Suarez and Messi who are trying to help him adapt.
